rsyncwin32.sourceforge.net/

Obviously rsync exists on Windows, but rsync is nothing like the products we're talking about.

Rsync is shit by comparison.
No kidding. That'd be like trying to use git for backups.

Well, yeah. I was answering his question, which was off topic. So my reply was on-topic to his off-topic-ness.

@blakeyrat to synch between all my devices I have a good reason to want something like this to be very multi platform
I had some problems with dropbox were I lost some files, so now I just copy things around.
And git, I use git to synch some stuff

@fbmac +1 for git. Turns out it works reliably, everywhere, and you can add notes to your updates. If you dont need that, though, commit messages could be a bit of a pain.

Maybe sooner if you use our software!

FolderShare was Mac & Windows, which is every platform that matters.

Honestly, I'd rather
rsync
a folder of projects than have them all under the same version control tree. But for the purposes of the discussion, these are all just transport layers. OP (blakey?) is looking for something with administrative capabilities too.

Well I'm not looking for it really, but I was just expressing surprise that this entire class of software disappeared almost overnight.
And the difference is more usability-related than administrative capability related. Setting up SSH is a pain in the ass. Opening holes in your firewall is a pain in the ass. Setting up a forwarding port or a DMZ is a pain in the ass.
None of those things are necessary if you have a small-ass server to do the initial negotiations between the two peers. Which is what these products provided.

Finally a Code Golf problem that C# and PowerShell are reasonably good at:
(Note the Node.JS and Python 3 answers are IPv4-only and thus not solutions at all.)
All those losers making their own custom shitty code-golf-only languages? Oops forgot networking in 'em.

So the amount of incorrect attempts at the password on my phone before it wiped itself was 5.
Guess how I found that outHurrah for daily backups to iCloud.

Status: They showed off a new version of VS that has the remaining intellisense features Resharper had been beating it at. It also installs in 5 minutes, in a live demo, and doesn't register anything with the GAC, and is 250MB. They say we can download it, but there are no links and I can't find it by searching.

It even restored the alarm which was snoozing...

Status: Just had to deal with the fun of NodeBB being in some state where it crashed Chrome on my phone, and would crash every time it recovered. Had to actually kill the tab and go back to the forum home, which I had to do very quickly. It took a number of tries.
It managed to do similar on my iPad with only crashing the tab repeatedly. Both times it was like that from the Unread page.
All this after a not so fun day at the office.

Darn, I thought only Discourse was special enough that it could crash my mobile Chrome... Guess not!

The spec says support either v4 or v6. An answer with both styles in as separate programs would be fineโฆ

Status: Taking bets on how long our Cisco guy is going to take to figure out the NAT problem with the new ASA we're installing to replace the old (not Cisco) firewall.
Currently we're at 45 minutes and counting. After 90 minutes of the original cutover and whatever troubleshooting he did on initial install.

You need to ask the Topic's Owner.
Status: Zoomed to 150%. NFC what everyone's whining about,
mobilelow-apparent-pixel-width view is totally usable!Especially since I
- Don't pay attention to the preview anyways (on account of it's not really that great a representation of what baked will look like)
- Don't care to have one click access to Categories, Unread, Recent, Hot, blah, blah, blah, Notifications, Chats, Profile, whatever (Since I have the "home" route set to Unread anyways)
- Don't need a bunch of empty space all around everything
Although the huge position bar at the bottom is a bit distracting, and the Red Boob's disappearance is a but off-putting (But at least dialogs are still layered properly!)
Side note: Are going to get our hot buttons for things like correction <del><ins>, spoilers, and abbreviation?

STATUS REPLY: My laptop actually zoomed out to like 80% and I didn't even notice until I saw the little zoom icon in the address bar. It's almost like NodeBB doesn't break whenever browser zoom is used!

@HardwareGeek So, it turns out that if you don't have a default route for a given interface, the Shitzco won't route traffic out it, even via Policy Based Routing.

We've had pretty good experience with Google Drive, particularly for the integration with Docs and Sheets.
That is not even remotely close to the type of software I'm talking about.
I'm talking about peer-to-peer folder syncing, not cloud storage or online documents or whatever you're on about. AFAIK, Google has never offered that.
Like rsync, smb, nfs, btsync, or syncthing?

To be fair, that's the kind of downside that it is relatively nice to have. Better than paying no taxes because of having no incomeโฆ

I just finished a book where the author consistently did the same mistake. As a result I knocked it down from four stars on goodread to two.
Gentlepeople, may we all please agree that we spell it "would have" (or "would've" if you prefer to contract it) no matter how we happen to pronounce it in our local vernacular.
-
@Mikael_Svahnberg I once read a science fiction book where the author had got it into his head that a positron was another name for a proton, rather than an anti-electron. I almost stopped reading when the anti-matter weapon was described as shooting a stream of anti-positrons: that would be a cathode ray tube

@Mikael_Svahnberg You missed the 'could of being' posted recently. My left eye twitched so hard it now sees infrared. ;)
