The only offense here is that you think I'm going to click a link to some youtube video you post, with no explanation other than that you intend to offend me with it. I don't respect you nearly enough for that to be an acceptable assumption on your part.

@Fox It is unfortunate that it doesn't show the title. Who doesn't like Yugioh abridged?

Three backslashes. Just like on reddit. First two for a literal backslash, third to escape the underscore so you don't end up with italics.

@JazzyJosh Stop microaggressing my amputee shrug guy
-
@Lorne-Kates if you refresh and click on one of those reply things, is the highlight noticeable enough now?
-
@ben_lubar Yes, but you used the wrong shade of blue.
-
Uh, is someone XSSing, or do we have a plugin that causes epilepsy when you go to a specific post now?
-
@JazzyJosh https://github.com/apapadimoulis/what-bugs/issues/16
I fixed it by attaching omgrainbows to
.highlight
. If someone wants to come up with a better way to highlight posts, be my guest.

li[data-username="tufty"] img { visibility: hidden; }
If you've seen a certain thread, you'll know why I'm posting this CSS rule.
-
@ben_lubar It doesn't highlight if I come to a post via the Notifications bell links, though.
-
@RaceProUK It helps to know that they're not actual medical conditions. They're photoshopped animal mouths/plant seed pods onto human body parts.
-
@ben_lubar I know; doesn't stop them being disturbing to look at. Also I'm thinking of those who browse at work.
-
@RaceProUK it made them less disturbing for me, at least. But yeah, still pretty disturbing.

@ben_lubar How about this, highlighting the whole post's background for a bit even after the highlight class goes away?
li[component="post"] { transition:background 5s ease-out; } li[component="post"].highlight { background-color:rgba(127, 127, 127, 0.25); transition:background 0s linear; }
Tested on Default, Darkly, and Superhero (but not any others, so there may be issues on other themes):
Once whatever kinks are worked out with going to the target post, we could lower the animation time.

Status: It's back, baby!
No Discodefinitions, sadly; that'll take more than a quick patch to sort out. But we have graphs!

-
@RaceProUK Do you have data for the past week? It would be interesting to see how things compare pre and post switchover...
-
@Nocha We'll have data right up to the switchover
-
@RaceProUK what was wrong with it?
-
Ummm...
-
@loopback0 wait, does it stream in posts at the end of the current page no matter which page you're on?
-
@ben_lubar Trying to render the Discodefinitions was failing; I just commented that line out for now
-

Yes. Although wobbling the page scroll should trigger it to load the next set of posts (if any) between.
-
@RaceProUK any chance of seeing a graph of discourse vs nodebb? Or nabbing a csv dump of the data so I can get something myself?
-

*shrug*
That's the first time I've seen that particular quirk.
Loading another batch of posts kept that one post of RacePro's at the end.
-
@loopback0 I wonder if that's why some people were getting double posts streamed in.

Yeah - spent the last 1/2 hr trying to get that sorted - think I've got it.
-
@Nocha We may do something like that at some point

Ouch. Been-there-done-that. Usually I'm starting about multiple instances of about 20 different programs.

Status: Glad that my current computer problem was just a cable issue and not something worse.
The mini-HDMI to HDMI cable I used to connect my PC to my TV stopped transmitting the signal. Swapped out a new cable today and it works fine. I'd double check the first cable but 1) I'm lazy and 2) I don't have anything else that does mini-HDMI out.

You'd think MS would implement a check on that. IIRC Firefox or Chrome would warn you if opening multiple tabs at one point.
Warning: Your selection will open multiple programs multiple times, which may slow down your computer. Do you wish to continue?

I'm sure it's saved me before.

It certainly didn't warn me!
Luckily, it was a bunch of 10-14kb files, so the longest part was Excel popping windows. Would screenshot, but P2 issues and all that.

Eh, couldn't be arsed. I needed them open eventually, just.... not all at once, and preferably not from that folder (was doing regression testing and seeking to make an archive of them in case the testers did... things.)

@Tsaukpaetra last month at work there was a note on the fridge threating food thieves, saying they may get sick next time.

I'm sure it's saved me before.I'm pretty sure it can - but it's not the default. But I can't remember the last time I set that option... or where it is... or if it still exists...

Status Slightly unnerved at how quick and painless it was to get a local nodebb instance up and running. From deciding I would see how hard it could be, to fully working instance took less than 15 minutes, most of which was downloading a docker image...
@ben_lubar I look to be using your image. This is scary good!

@cartman82 A friend of mine legally changed her name (initially due to surname) and used the chance to add a middle name.

is wrong, she obviously can't spell her own damned name and it should be fixed for her! Also, due to wonderful software (presumably) she often gets forms where her name is put in as
