Probably when they realized that the websites delegated to it were showing ads and they could show their own ads once every five if they re-implemented it because it was in the fucking flash version..... how long has this option been on Youtube's html5 player?

okay, that's a plausible why, still doesn't give me a when though.

That is a when. Its when they noticed that. In fairness it does appear to be a recent thing though.Probably when they realized that the websites delegated to it were showing ads and they could show their own ads once every five if they re-implemented it because it was in the fucking flash version.

@boomzilla Will I ever get to see your profile page?
*edit Since when does Ctrl+Enter submit a post?

That is a when. Its when they noticed that
touchet.
fine. it's a when relative to another event that occured at an unknown or unspecified time.
so about as useful
-
*edit Since when does Ctrl+Enter submit a post?
for well over a year, it's how i've habitually submitted posts on this forum since i joined.
that's one of the keyboard shortcuts i've just memoriezed by now.
unless overridden CTRLENTER submits the current form

@boomzilla Will I ever get to see your profile page?
Unlikely. Even if bitdefender plays nicely, discourse probably won't.

Status: Reading gaming news, sometimes you get a sense of how socially-backwards Japan actually is:
In the Japanese version, players are able to bond two characters together in battle, which can result in marriage. A gay female character, Soleil, is shown to have difficulty talking to other women, so a male protagonist secretly spikes her drink with a "magic powder" to make women appear to as men, and men appear at women.
Once the magic wears off, Soleil is then attracted to the male protagonist, and ends up proposing, saying that she fell in love with the female version of him, but now loves him as a male.
WTF Nintendo. Not ok.

Slashdot fails at everything, including German.
Also, my browser's language is set to English. Slashdot has articles written in English.
So why the fuck do they show me GERMAN "paid ""articles""?

IP based detection?
Which is WRONG!
Why does browser language exist?
Why would a site where all the (kinda sorta) legitimate content is in English have paid "content" in a different language? This is just wrong wrong wrong.
-
This is just wrong wrong wrong.
Never said it wasn't, just offering a plausible hypothesis.
-
So why the fuck do they show me GERMAN "paid ""articles""?
Why the fuck do you read Slashdot?
-
read
I wouldn't really call it reading.
I open it every few days, scroll down the first two pages and open any links where the headline sounds at least vaguely interesting.

You need to learn the wonders of RSS.

Status: Just persuaded a Windows 8 machine to remount its (not part of a workgroup) network drives at user login. Apparently, this link is helpful, and I don't know why it needs going through the Credential Manager like that. The user is happy, and that's what counts.

Playing Russian RAMlette?
-
I'll keep that in mind.
I never used RSS for anything and could never be bothered to learn how to use it effectively, though.

NewBlur, yo. Yo, NewsBlur.

feedly works for me. better than newsblur in my not so humble opinion.

There's not a plugin for Vim then?

Can't just dump it in the trash container, since OMG environment.
Environment is preventing you from leaving it next to a trash can and
walkingrunning away?
-
There's not a plugin for Vim then?
sadly no, but there is a ncurses based package, so i should be able to wedge it in there if you like.

Got tickets for Black Sabbath next week. But I'm a bit worried about making it because they're all elderly and it seems celebrities are dying like mad lately...
Status: A bit disappointed at last night's concert. Ozzy blew his voice out a few songs in, and assuming they hadn't actually planned a 1-hour show, they had to cut it short.

Status: So we caught my friend up with my other friend, and those two now just have the last dragon and the last boss before they can enter season 2.
At the same time, though, we're strongly considering moving to the US West server. The only things Nexon hosts are the Royal Army Raids and towns, so it's not like my friends would lag when they host a battle. But the AUS server has like 8 level 90s in it, so you have to be really lucky to find one of them to carry you through missions where you can't do anything.
Whereas on US West, there are constantly people, and the marketplace actually works. Still, getting to 70 again sounds like a pain... I can hit 50 in a few days as Karok with the two years worth of skill points since I last played the character and all the free stuff they gave me for server moves that I never knew about because I wasn't playing.
All I know is, I'm feeling pretty done with playing as Fiona. She's by far my favorite character, and apart from raids, she's amazing. But raid bosses use unblockable attacks, and the devs figured that since she has an overpowered block, her dodge shouldn't have invulnerability frames. So yeah, really frustrating. Whereas Karok just Faceless Voids his HP back.

Here we meet our hero programming a complex business rule into a program
is Listening to the sound track to Transistor on her headphones while working.
knocks on her desk to get her attention.
"ready to go to [local restaraunt where we do a regular IT Team Thursday lunch]?"
: "Sure! Let's go!~"blinks and reaches over to where hangs her coat, retrieving the emergency T-shirt that hangs next to it and hands it to
"What's this?"
realizes her chest feels rather wet.
reaches down and feels her shirt, pulling back fingers that are stained red.
"Fuck. and I liked this shirt too. Fucking nosebleeds"

As long as you never use any non-encrypted HTTP for anything that relates to you, you should be fine. If all else fails, SSH tunnel to a machine you know is secure enough.

I also was to simply set the BluRay in question on my list again so I'd get it again at a later date (this time in a language I speak, though).
At least that was the plan.
Today I received the movie again.
And it was in French. Again
Well, you have to give the robots a point for consistency; that behaviour is clearly repeatable.

@boomzilla This is your fault! Jeff it!
Guess how I can tell that you're not serious?
YOU NEVER TOLD ME!

Oh. From the onebox I figured it was tumblrinas getting upset about about a story where a gay character converts after a story arc. Which, while unacceptable to discuss in the presence of militant snowflakes, is a realistic enough (I've seen it a few times IRL, both for constructive and destructive reasons) and acceptable story that would be worth telling if done right.
And then I read your excerpt. That is... Not acceptable. At all.
TLDR: Expressed sexuality is mutable, and as a result there are stories to be told there. This one is only on that list of you play it as a destructive event. Which they didn't.

Meh, I don't see this as "gay conversion". It is more like it is promoting pansexualism where the character is attracted to the person and not their sex/gender. Not that big of a deal really. At least not to me.
Hell, I am halfway surprised that the SJWs didn't jump all over this with cries of "You should love the person, not their genitals!! To the tumblrs!!" But you can never figure out what those idiots might be outraged by.

Meh, I don't see this as "gay conversion".
More like rape via drugs, if anything. What is everyone actually upset about?

Status: Just persuaded a Windows 8 machine to remount its (not part of a workgroup) network drives at user login.
Nice. Yesterday I tricked my Win 8.1 Enterprise desktop in to thinking it was Win 8.1 Pro so that I could upgrade to Win 10 without a full re-install of everything. I was really not wanting to reinstall everything...

I honestly can't tell if he was trying to be funny.

The typo fits well with all of this talk of bleeding all over the place.
