Doesn't matter.
-
You're implying it's my decision on what browsers we must support.
-
Take control and run naked through the halls screaming about IE8-10. That's what I want to do most of the time, at least.
-
dwarfocr
probably doesn't support wildcards in filenamesCorrect. Because that's the shell's job.
you'd have to do something like
ls "175*_stuff.png" | ./dwarfocr
That would either run dwarfocr with no input, or, if there was a file named
175*_stuff.png
(literally that because the wildcard was quoted), would run dwarfocr with that filename on the standard input, which dwarfocr doesn't read. Unless PowerShell has a different meaning for|
than every other shell in existence, including command prompt.504 OK
-
Also it's not like I want to work with IE9.

Should I mention that this organization has a Java 6 support contract with Oracle?
-
Alright, who broke it this time?
-
-
IE9 <f
-
Should I mention that this organization has a Java 6 support contract with Oracle?
We still use Java 4 for one app, although we don't pay Oracle big support dollars for that.
-
Okay, but did the commands work for you?

Whoa betide those of us who have to suffer through this because the mod's aren't doing there job and jeffing this stuff to anew thread.

PS C:\Users\Owner\Dropbox\Public\wtdwtf dwarf fortress lets play> dir | Where-Object {$_.Name -match "175(.)*_2015-12-14_0001[2-6]\.png"} | .\dwarfocr.exe Warning: no filenames given PS C:\Users\Owner\Dropbox\Public\wtdwtf dwarf fortress lets play> $a = 12..16; $a | % { gci "175*_2015-12-14_000$($_).png"} | .\dwarfocr.exe Warning: no filenames given PS C:\Users\Owner\Dropbox\Public\wtdwtf dwarf fortress lets play>

.\dwarfocr.exe (dir | Where-Object {$_.Name -match "175(.)*_2015-12-14_0001[2-6]\.png"})
?\Or maybe just
$a = dir | Where-Object {$_.Name -match "175(.)*_2015-12-14_0001[2-6]\.png}
and then.\dwarfocr.exe $a
.I don't know, your program is special.

I discovered that I need to plug into the 12v socket. The USB socket in the car doesn't have enough juice.
Yeah, and that is why those are rubbish. Automakers move at the speed of government, and those are non-upgradeable, so most of them only put out 350-500ma. My phone will not even charge at that current level. If I were running GPS, it probably wouldn't even keep up with draw of all the associated radios and the screen being on.
-
How does the 2006 man feel about that?
He's only 9 years old; he's still a boy. How he feels is irrelevant, because he's not old enough to consent, but the police feel a bit upset at the moment.
-
Apparently PowerShell doesn't support ANSI escapes, which literally every other shell does. Including command prompt.
Hmm, I wonder...
cmd /c .\dwarfocr.exe (dir | Where-Object {$_.Name -match "175(.)*_2015-12-14_0001[2-6]\.png"})
Super-intuitive.
-
Take control and run naked through the halls screaming about IE8-10. That's what I want to do most of the time, at least.
If you do, at least you won't have to support them any more.
-
I knew we'd get there eventually.
-
-
Including command prompt.
The Win32 console does not support ANSI escape sequences at all.
-

Yup, that's what aftermarket 2.1A ports that plug into the
cigarette lighter ports"power points" are for.

That's how I remember it too--you had to use nansi.sys or nansi.com or the like.
-
Okay, so you can do it like this:
cmd /c .\dwarfocr.exe (dir -Name "175*_2015-12-14_0001[2-6].png")
Not as pretty as bash, but close...not sure why but it seems that PS doesn't support the range wildcard for double digit numbers, apparently.
-
PS doesn't support the range wildcard for double digits numbers, apparently
[2-6] is regexp-speak for "any character in the range starting at 2 and ending at 6". [12-16] is "any character that is 1, in the range 2-1, or 6".
-
Right, I knew it was using regex. I just don't understand why PowerShell with all of its inferring magic doesn't look and say:
"Hmm, this could be one of two things: any character that is 1 in the range 2-1, or 6; or it could be 12 through 16...hmm...which does the user probably want?"

Status: UPS damaged another package of mine. The claim process is all done, now they need proof of the value of the shipment and they will pay it out. Here is the conversation that just took place.
"So, we are all done. If you can email or fax us an invoice to prove the value of the items that were damaged, we can get you reimbursed."
"Sure. In the interests of honesty, that item was transferred from one of my businesses to the other. There was never a real invoice created. Do you want the invoice from when it was originally purchased by the other business?"
"No, we need one made out to the shipper."
"OK, but I just want you to be aware that invoice would be made by me and I would have to generate it right now."
"No problem, as long as you pre-date it back to before the shipment."
"OOOOOOOOK. This seems like insurance fraud."
"I just need something to put in the records."
"I will get it right over to you then."
-
Maybe @ben_lubar is using the @wood version of PowerShell, which intentionally chooses the most
annoyingcorrect, obviously way to do things.
-
intentionally chooses the most annoying way to do things.
That's the standard version of Powershell
-
IE9 goes out of support next month anyway, unless you're on Vista.
Not going to lie down, this is almost exciting!
Well, the encouragement speech was a little moving, not so excited about Citrix-ing things, but then again, all the sites I run display just fine in IE5.5!
-
Cutting it fine with testing. We started all the IE11 shit back in.... March or something.
-
Strangely, I've never run into a problem like this before in PowerShell. Usually PS is so forgiving and easy it feels like I'm when I'm not.
-
"down level"
Also, why in the fuck are users allowed to pick their own pictures? Ugh.
-
Given that picture, I can safely assume @Tsaukpaetra lives near me and there's a nonzero chance we will meet and I can be really awkward.
-
started all the IE11 shit
Yeah... Not everything is done timely, and especially if it's not part of the daily gotta-have-yesteryear fire drill.
users allowed
No idea, but it makes it easy to tell apart the innovative-explorey types from the I-follow-all-the-rules-to-the-letter people. At least we got (most) of the employees to stop inserting "stationary" and "cutesy quotes" in their emails during the merger.safely assume
That my publicly discoverable PII makes it way easy to check?Oh wait, this isn't the lounge...

If you hadn't done what you said you did, then I might agree with you. As it stands, it sounds more like you may have some questionable accounting practices between the businesses.

Meh. There was a general roll-up billing for "inventory transfer". Nothing that delineated the item in question though.
GAAP? Probably not. But no need to get too detailed when the transaction is in essence moving money from one pocket to another.
-
Yeah, I was just - I quite like Powershell really.

I don't view source on every single post I read. :aint_nobody_got_time_for_that.gif:
I am, too, and I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't react to your post, even if intentional.

Not every one, but given how rarely I @accalia, and how many were in that sentence, it wouldn't have been a bad idea to do so.
