I haven't done any proper research, but when I got fed up with iMovies (that took all of five minutes and three crashes) I did a quick search and stumbled upon ShotCut. Don't know how that fares compared to other video editing tools, though.

    Nothing

The only way I've ever managed to kill VS is by updating a combobox in a background worker thread while trying to access it in the GUI thread. Managed to not just throw an exception but take down the entire IDE

Apparently it's "normal weight". My beer gut and quite nice rack seem to differ.

  • Depends how hard he's been trying.

If you've lost that much weight that fast without a change in diet or exercise, go and see a doctor. If you've been eating better or exercising better, and you're not underweight, be happy.

  • kills Dumbledore

BMI is mostly calibrated for severely underweight people and gets less accurate/useful as it gets higher.

It also completely fails to account for muscularity, which is why rugby players tend to have a BMI in the obese range. So it sounds like you're a wimpy dude who could lose a bit more weight without it getting unhealthy

  • FoxDev

I classify as obese too; I ain't even close to being fat, let alone obese.

  • You gotta buy a decent mic first, buddy.

Unless the white noise is intentional.

    EDIT:

    1. You can't find any decent video editor without spending about $80 to get the basic 10-timeline Sony Vegas version. (It's not called Vegas, though, even though everybody calls it Vegas. It's actually cheaper than it used to be, and now supports 20 timelines. Huh.)

    2. Audacity sucks ass, but it actually does an ok job of noise removal. It just takes FUCKING FOREVER because it's not multithreaded. (Yeah. Yeah, it is 2015. Explanation: open source.) Anything else that does noise removal is $350.

    3. I like your snark and thank you for fast-forwarding/deleting the boring bits. Which is more than I do usually. Because I'm a lazy fucker.

last time i checked there were a lot of new parts and things to play around

Alpha -> Beta was a pretty huge change, so Beta -> 1.0 should be too.

And of course all the mods will be "broken". Where broken is "it doesn't really work but it kinda sorta does maybe if you're lucky and only use one part".

I don't know when we're talking about here, but if you haven't seen the Kerbodyne parts... well they make rocket-building into "easy-mode".

However, I appreciate the new airplane parts.

Being governed by Fritos can't be worse than what we have now.

  • Especially the spicy nacho flavor or whatever. Usually, passionate, fiery leaders are quite popular.

Friet-o-cracy: special Belgium kind of democracy. Everything is decided over a portion of Belgian fries (frietjes) from famous frietshop 't draaksken (the dragon). Except for the fries it's a rather belgium-ed way of doing politics.

  • Do you know if there's a way to play a video faster than the source in ShotCut? That's the only thing I can't seem to find in the interface.

The only way I've ever managed to kill VS is by updating a combobox in a background worker thread while trying to access it in the GUI thread. Managed to not just throw an exception but take down the entire IDE

As of VS2010, they enabled ASLR and/or some other anti-hacking magic by default in new projects.

This caused certain ActiveX controls to become incompatible with programs it generated. In fact, they were so incompatible that simply dropping them onto a form would cause VS to crash. (Other applications compiled in VS2010 that had form designer functionality had the same problem.)

  • Status: Just had to assist a client that still uses Access as a front-end application, because they moved a SQL database to a new server that one of their Access applications has linked tables for. Simple enough, should just open the MDB, update the link and rebuild to a MDE and:

Ok, nothing changed between the last time we built the MDE for them 3 years ago (under the same circumstances, new SQL database location but different linked tables). Try and build the old version again, it has the same issue. Scratch my head a bit, search the internet and find a page where someone says to go into the VBA, tell that to compile and fix any errors it gives. I get exactly one error, fix it, and now it will build to an MDE.

So at first I think "well, what a useless error message, not even telling me the right thing," since it's talking about TableID references and forms and what not, but the error was a compile error in VBA.

Then I think "wait, nothing else changed in the MDB, so how did we build it 3 years ago?" The Access file I worked from was dated the same day that I last built the damn thing, which means no one else has touched it (because even opening them updates the last access date).

Then I remembered I'm dealing with Access, and stopped caring.
