Google Maps Pac-Man and other April Foolishness

For example, central Manchester!
-
Eh wat? That's just a normal map...
-
Give it a second, jeez
Can you rotate it in some way? The keys be confuzzling me!

No idea, I'm afraidBut you could always put it over Manhattan. Or Milton Keynes.
-
I gave it like two whole minutes. It is literally just google maps.
-
Maybe it doesn't work in Chrome?
-
A Google thing, not work in a Google browser?
-
Opera here, so it must.
Version information Version: 28.0.1750.48 - Opera is up to date Update stream: Stable System: Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) (x86_64; X-Cinnamon)
-
Exactly.

Do you need to be signed in? It just strips the URL down to this https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.4786087,-2.2410215,18z.
Meh, bored now... I'm gonna go do something else...
-
No need to be signed in.
And it works in IE
-
-
Should we just preemptively turn this into the April Fool's Awesomeness thread?
-
I wouldn't call this an April Fools' thing though; Google normally put those on their homepage.
-
Yeah, they stole the idea from Bing.

And?

hmm.... note to self get a completely different order than usual at starbucks tomorrow just to mess with the barista.

It was a low-effort troll, answering that question would require more effort than the troll-value of any potential answer.

"Hello, I'd like an African American coffee."
-
If we do, I'll take a moment to mention StackOverflow's "StackEgg". You can find it on the right side of the main page.
It's on all the other StackExchange sites too.

Seppuku?
April Fools' jokes are the worst.

I don't think I've ever gotten past level 2 in pacman.
-
my record is around level 7 or 8, but it is a known bug in original pacman
-
-
Ah—It's not 1st of April here yet...
-
Yeah, they stole the idea from Bing.
You are such a MS fan boy that your breath must wreak of Bill Gates' scrotum.
<wreak used instead of reek, just to fuel the pendants>

Not any more it would seem

StackEgg was a failed April Fools joke that killed the site's performance.

Maybe it doesn't work in Chrome?
As far as I can tel it only works on the new (not terribly new any more but as opposed to the old) version of Maps. If you have it set to give you the old google maps layout you won't get it. Suggest playing in incognito to avoid getting your preference for the good version overwritten.

...I think Ars Technica whooshed:

Google has a few going:

NOREPRO: ‮/elgoog.moc//:sptth

Where did you see that? I'm only seeing http://www.bing.com/explore/cutecloud
-
Oh that's clever. I see what you did there.
-
This feature isn't available yet in your country or region
Guess that explains it ;)
-
WTF?
Germany even has it.
-
And the UK has Palm Search instead.
-
Google.com is now redirecting me to google.co.jp instead of the local site. I don't know if that's because I used com.google (or the pacman maps) or if it's an april fools in itself, but it's actually annoying >:(
