Poll: If PJH is willing and able, would you hide him behind an ellipsis?
-
right. flagged him and your post too. @ben_lubar didn't advertise his flag so i can make an official flag...
-
It's whooshes all the way down.
-
-
Someones certainly thought someone did...
huh.... flags are shown in reverse chronological order there...
never noticed that.
-
Appeal!!
How can you whoosh on something that wasn't a joke? blakey even complained else-thread about his whoosh:
Note that Abarker used the "font size 2" variant in his other poll and then says LOL I WHOOSHED BLAKEYRAT and basically that's annoying as shit, stop doing that. Not I'm not going to hit control-+ 47 times to read your shit. Go away.
Also, note to @accalia: Regarding your flag comment: he did deserve that flag, as shown above.
-

i disagree with your assessment that he earned a flag, so i flaged you. i stand by my disagreement. I genuinely do not believe blakeyrat wooshed there.
you can appeal your decision though. i do respect the appeals process.
-
-
obviously

How can you whoosh on something that wasn't a joke?
I repeat: Jokes is jokes!
That shit was funny, even if BDGI. Especially if BDGI.
-
Since you flagged me, I'm appealing to PJH. I'm not looking for your feedback.
Saying someone whooshed when they actually whooshed is not a case of "not getting the joke".
-
Since you flagged me, I'm appealing to PJH. I'm not looking for your feedback.
And I'm counter-appealing. That feedback wasn't for you.
Saying someone whooshed when they actually whooshed is not a case of "not getting the joke".
But you didn't get the joke!
-

I feel like I whooshed on this sentence.
-
I feel like I whooshed on this sentence.
- blakeyrat whooshed. A later post by blakey in another thread shows that it was a whoosh.
- I flagged him for whooshing.
- boomzilla flagged me for whooshing, claiming that #1 was a joke.
Got it now?
-
Sounds like the beginning of a whoosh train.
-
But you didn't get the joke!
I'm not arguing whether it was a joke or not: I flagged that he didn't get a joke that he honestly didn't get. That's it. How is that a whoosh?
-
How is that a whoosh?
You missed his joke. That's what I'm saying. Maybe he told it on accident, but it was pretty funny, and I don't think it was really accidental.
-
You're still not explaining: How is flagging someone else's whoosh missing a joke?
-
How is flagging someone else's whoosh missing a joke?
I didn't flag your flag. I flagged your post boasting about your flag.
-
I didn't flag your flag. I flagged your post boasting about your flag.
that's what i did too, but only because i can't see your flags.
if i could see your flags i would have been tempted to flag your flag, if for no other reason than i'm currious how far down the flags can really go.
-
I didn't flag your flag. I flagged your post boasting about your flag.
That's not really answering my question. Besides, it's fairly common to post when you flag someone for a badge. Or haven't you noticed. I wouldn't say it was a boast so much as a common practice.
-

It happens sometimes, yes. I would say I have a better understanding of how often that happens than you do. ;-)
That's not really answering my question.
Dude...the answer to the question is that I thought you missed the joke so I flagged you. Like I said before. Now you're vying to take @accalia's title as the Biggest Whoosh Whiner.
-
Now you're vying to take @accalia's title as the Biggest Whoosh Whiner.
take it. it's not like she wants it.
-
Sounds like the beginning of a whoosh train.
Sounds more like whoosh hour. Also, can we put the "Share" button behind an Ellipsis button? Because having to click (or hover) a button to click a button would be so fitting for this site.
-
You can use the timestamp to share, though.
-
Curses, foiled again!
-
...... why is that functionality hidden there? why?
-
-
You mean you didn't expect the 'timestamp' to also be a share button despite there being an actual share button like an inch away?
DiscoVerability, natch.
-
I actually forget the share button exists, since DiscoVering the timestamp does it, that's where I go for the link.
I'm worried this is a symptom of Discourse Syndrome.

And vat other seemp-tomz do you seem to experience, hmm?
-
None others recently.
Not yet anyway.

Same here. I don't really associate the glyph that I assume is meant to be two chain links as a share button. It's hard enough remembering that that's the Link glyph in the reply box
-
to be
twothree chain linksFTFY
Don't forget the one you see from the side which joins the two obvious links.
Hung a pendant on this one. -b
-
That makes more sense than them being linked by a piece of string or something
-

unless the bit of string is there as a safety breakaway.
;-)

I'm worried this is a symptom of Discourse Syndrome.I'm the other way around. I share via the little link icon.
-
if for no other reason than i'm currious how far down the flags can really go.
I'm staying out of this one...
Also, can we put the "Share" button behind an Ellipsis button?
Does anyone actually use that button? Apart from @boomzilla.
That makes more sense than them being linked by a piece of string or something
This is Discourse, so it probably is string.
-
-
-
That seems to be what's holding most of the site together
504 (sometimes only 502 or even a mere 429) pieces, to be precise.
-
Does anyone actually use that button?
Analytics would probably show a dozen or so links generated with my username from that button to the Funny Stuff thread >.>

Though the timestamp includes your username in the link, too.
-
-

Not sure if serious, since the whole ellipsis idea is a joke, but yes I use that. It has semantic meaning (link to this post), as opposed to the timestamp, which I tend to forget has the same functionality, because ...
>boomzilla:
the timestamp...is a link?
Go figure.
-
-
See that @abarker? DON'T FLAG HIM
You know, I should flag you just for that ...
Instead, I'm de-hatting you and giving you a bad toupee.
-

Thanks, that hides the bald spot nicely.
