and they're still absolutely adorable!

I can certainly relate to that. There's no way my dogs would get to the finish line until every speck of food had been eaten and the bowls licked clean.

Thank goodness they included all these helpful translations. Nobody would have a chance of knowing what it was without them.

Can someone explain this one? I don't get it.

I believe the moral is that some people will never be amazing programmers, but there's nothing wrong with being a decent, average one. He was recommending that people with the potential to be great be held to a high standard, but you might as well let the guy with no potential go on being average in the meantime.
Not sure if I agree or not, but I think that's what it was trying to say

I basically agree with this analysis, but I think the lesson more that there are important roles for the less talented. Or perhaps differently talented is a better way to phrase it. I mean...is grass inferior to a tree? Sure, for some things, but not for all things (such as lying down upon).

So what he is saying is...Scientologists are on to something?

Last night, as my son and I went out to look for a new gas cooktop:
"Da-da, spell poop" -lots of toddler laughter-
"P-O-O-P, that spells poop" -more toddler laughter-
"Spell again!" (lather, rinse, repeat)Later, on the way home:
"Da-da, spell poop!"
"You spell poop, daddy forgot how."
"M...O...M-M-Y"
"...that is exactly right son. Be sure and tell mommy your new word when she gets home." -lots of daddy laughter-Needless to say, my wife did not find it nearly as funny as I did...

Does saying "fuck me" promote consensual sex?

Perhaps we need a "Painful Things Thread".

Perhaps we need a "Painful Things Thread".
I think so. This is definitely not the correct thread for such an article.

Can it be considered quasi-stupid?

Can it be considered quasi-stupid?
Probably not. The article says they regularly use the confetti canons without incident. It was just a painful accident. Then again, he probably should have gone to the hospital right away, especially since they ended up removing "500 ML" (500 megaliters?! How does he even have that much blood?!) from his scrotum.
On second thought, I'd say the Stupid Ideas That Have Been Done Thread is appropriate in this case.

Most authorities suggest that simmering is the proper method, and that boiling degrades the flavor and clarity. However, recommendations to use a pressure cooker seem to contradict this, as the whole point of a pressure cooker is to cook at a temperature even higher than normal boiling.
The problem with boiling is not the temperature but the agitation, which causes fat that would otherwise float to the top and get skimmed off to instead emulsify, causing cloudiness.

First line: "Wait, this the chief engineer and she can't even identify shit with a tricorder? You people are doomed[1]?"
[1] Note to pendants: I may have typed that line slightly wrong. I'm not going to rewind it a fourth time.
