I think I was primed by the context so my first parse of the headline was "A bear bit my face off so I made [my face] into goulash".
It was probably over the legal limits for antibiotic residues (and tasted too much of iodine anyway) by the time the surgeons were done with it but "if anybody will eat my face it's gonna be ME!" would be an understandable motto.

@da-Doctah There's already a different grain called rye, more closely related to wheat than rice. (Or at least it's more similar to wheat; I don't know about the genetics of various Poaceae. (Wikipedia says yes, it's closely related to wheat and barley.) Like wheat and barley, it contains gluten, which rice does not.)

@boomzilla TL;DR: Guy eats octopus. (I've had octopus. Meh. It's not terrible, but the texture is very rubbery.) I guess he swallowed it whole, and it got stuck partway down. Just like any other big chunk of food that got stuck; that it happened to have tentacles is mostly just click bait.

The fact that it was big enough to get stuck indicates that he failed to chew it adequately. The tentacles add squick factor, but aren't really relevant to it getting stuck.

Like squid and cuttlefish, you either have to cook octopus very quickly or very slowly for a long time. I've got a tremendous Greek octopus stew recipe somewhere. (I might have too many recipes...)

I make, or used to make, before I had to give up sugar, chocolate chip cookies with almond flour. They don't have the same texture as regular, wheat flour cookies (which can be quite varied, depending on the recipe), but not bad at all. Assuming you're not allergic to tree nuts, of course.

@remi There are some toxic minerals that are a bad idea to go licking. Not that they will kill you from licking them, but still not a good idea.
But then again, there are mechanics that check what fluid something is by tasting it, which is also a bad idea.

Obviously, yeah. But those aren't that common so you're unlikely to stumble upon them randomly. Also, the licking only really matters to identify a couple of sedimentary rocks, which none of the toxic minerals are. In igneous contexts (where you might find those), licking won't help you, so if you're an actual field geologist (and not just a random-rock-licker), you're not going to do it.

Actually you probably can lick it once or twice, but sucking on it like a candy would indeed be a bad idea. Our mineralogy professor used that to lead a discussion about radioactivity. There was a tray with various rocks and when describing them he pointed out the pitchblende. His quip was "you're fine looking at it, touching it etc. but just don't go storing the sample in your trousers' pocket..."
