Years ago there was a crew doing the same thing in Minecraft Classic but it looked horrible and was abandoned. Hopefully this one goes farther, and hopefully he does the Constitution-class as well.

I once said that I thought the Oculus Rift was useless and that I saw no reason why I would ever want one.
I officially rescind that statement. Don't ever say I do not change my opinion when presented with new evidence.

Ignoring the low-res issues entirely, IIRC the bridge had to be really shaped weird so that it looked cool on TV, but if you were actually standing there it'd be really oddly shaped. I've heard other video game renditions of real-world things have run into similar problems.

That reminds me of World of Warcraft where it's pretty much impossible to have an indoor area less than 4-5 meters high because of the way the camera works.

That's not technically true, if you consider glitchy behavior (e.g., the camera getting pushed into your head) "working," but it's the kind of thing I meant, yes.
