Status: Fuck DHL with a rusty spork.
I think there might be a business opportunity in selling rusty sporks.
But one would have to get shipping sorted first.FedEx are less of a problem than DHL, so that's easy to sort out.
On the other hand, shipping those rusty sporks with DHL may exactly lead to the desired effect. Only that the customer cannot enjoy watching it.

@BernieTheBernie True. At least one of the pizza shops is a known drug front.

@BernieTheBernie if my stomach made the “Radar” noise from an iDevice, loud enough that a large room could hear it, I’d wonder what medical foul up happened.
Also, I didn’t have beans.

@Arantor What? Did you get "Petite dejeuner" instead of "English breakfast"?

@Applied-Mediocrity not the way he meant it.

@BernieTheBernie the hotel offers more of a buffet-style breakfast and I didn’t fancy beans this morning. But I did get egg, sausage, bacon, toast, mushrooms. And tea I left long enough to be builder’s apprentice tea.

I know what builder's tea is. What is builder's apprentice tea?

But fine, let's just all agree it's a good thing it's not another fucking vaping shop. It's a joke that we have alot of pizza shops in town but today I learned that vaping shops are catching up fast. Either they are stupidly cheap to operate or the lease agreements are signed while everybody's smoking something other than tobacco.
Here in Oregon, it's pot shops.
-
@HardwareGeek it would like to be a builder one day, but lacks the strength, experience and muscle to get there just yet.
The new brand of teabags they're using wouldn't get to builder's tea even if you left three of them in there at a time.
-
@Arantor Ah, that makes sense. I occasionally (and inadvertently) make that. It's about the only time I put milk in my tea. (Well, except masala chai, which definitely calls for a substantial amount of milk.)

That powder you mentioned… it wasn’t thermal powder, but I think the system might have detected its origins as from Bolivian coca plants…

That was from the thermal paste tube itself. Which would be surprising. But perhaps not uncorrelated.

Status: probably should have taken before and after performance stats. The fans have been much quieter in idle than before!
I'm under no illusion that this means the CPU is less burdened than before, and my adjusted fan curves may also have something to do with it, but the power supply fan has been very reasonable!
Might take her for a spin.

Probably because the explainer just learned it and needed to share to validate that they understood it.

I was considering a €1000 order this afternoon, but I really ought to finish the lego room before I buy more inventory. Also two of those sets would be pre-orders for 1 August anyway.

Well, now they're doubly secure: if I want to remove the authenticator I'll have to enter a code texted to the phone that has the app!

What year will come sooner, the year of linux on desktop or when ipv6 overtake ipv4?
A few years ago would you believe that duke nukem forever would be released before ipv6 take off?

We're starting to get close to enough eggs to justify the chicken, services like Azure are supporting IPv6 native connectivity for a lot of core functions now. I think you'll start seeing businesses move in that direction within the next few years, at which point it'll be A Thing. And really, most American metro areas are already currently using IPv6 for basically all mobile phone connections and a good swath of residential Internet (not to mention mobile adoption in Africa and Asia and places like that which had a much lower buffer of IPv4 availability when things went into austerity).
tl;dr - IPv6 is already here, you just don't really see it under the hood. Linux on the desktop is 10 years away, right after fusion power.

I would rather consider HL3's release to be the target.
-
@izzion spent many hours with my ISP support trying to make it work here. it's a small ISP, so they probably don't have a lot of people asking for IPv6

this reminds me ... our customer facing jira uses Azure/O365 authentication, someone set up a region block on that limiting only logons from . To no one's surprise this doesn't work for people who are assigned an IPv6 address only by their provider.
