No, it's supposed to go in the biological equipment. Unless that biological is @HardwareGeek, then you use the drain.

Yes, I'm moving. So?

@Zenith Nobody called me out on calling the telephone a 20th century technology? Turn in your and cards.
Also, I don't remember the .NET ADO controller interpreting a NULL parameter as NO parameter. When the hell did that change?

@PleegWat I'm sure there's a joke in there to be had about Google being concerned that one of its users has disappeared off tracking like a lost sheep that needs to be found...

I could have sworn it was supposed to be a special DB_NULL someshit or other....

It is. ( on) A telephone connects via copper wire and POTS. A cellphone on the other hand... (and I'm just ignoring digital "land lines" because )

status after researching and putting together a small project on aws I'm beginning to think those “expert with 7 years aws experience” applicants is equivalent to someone claiming java expertise when they've being hacking together the same libraries for most of their careers.
-
@DogsB double points if they paid for the AWS certification in how to sell and use AWS products.
-
-
@Arantor What certificate is that?
-
@stillwater AWS have an entire fleet of certifications.
My favourite of these is “Cloud Practitioner” which is “you know enough about AWS to be able to convince other people to buy AWS services”. At least, previous places I’ve worked, the sales guys had this…
But many of these vendor certifications are kinda scammy - it’s not enough to sell the products or services, they’ll also sell you training on them and certification that you know how to use said products or services…

I wonder if they provide scripts. So far, the aws people I've dealt with have been quite good but they all say similar things. Maybe I'm just presenting a problem with a known answer but the same turn of phrase and the same way of navigating the problem. Could be a company culture thing.
@stillwater if you have dreams of being a corporate drone with a steady job and a good pension Certs are the way to. Corporate love a good cert. Even better is finding someone with certs and making them get more certs so that they can claim they've created In-house expertise with all those certs they've bought.
I made a storming attempt at becoming a Wally. The circular meetings were giving me an aneurysm though. There's good work life balance to be had in becoming Wally. Some of us aren't cut out to be Wally.
status miss having a backspace and a delete button on my phone keyboard.
-
@DogsB If they don't provide scripts I'm sure there are plenty who will.
I personally lump the AWS certs in the same category as I did for the old PHP Zend certification and for the MCSE of old: it's a cheap passport for convincing people who don't know any better that you know what you're doing.

Hey, don’t denigrate the all important role of the Minesweeper Consultant and Solitaire Expert!
-
@izzion I haven't heard it called that in 20 years! Not helped by the fact that Windows doesn't ship Minesweeper by default any more, and Solitaire is a fucking joke at this point (I'd rather pay SolSuite and be hounded by their emails for years rather than subscribe to MS for ad-free solitaire FFS)

Bat out of hell. Forgotten most of the lyrics but remembered enough to know that the leads didn't have the lungs for it. Then again I image few could fill those boots.
-
@DogsB oh god, yeah, that's a trainwreck of a musical from a story perspective. And they made the fatal mistake of setting up Bat Out Of Hell as the end-of-act-1 song meaning that nothing in the second act can possibly live up to it.
Jukebox musicals have a curious habit of having to shoehorn the big numbers in and then the story doesn't work. (Queen's We Will Rock You is one of the few exceptions where they were very careful with the song choices, and pacing thereof.)
I was going to maybe try to explain the plot but I'm not sure I even understood the plot of Bat Out Of Hell either - it doesn't really make any sense. But the sets were pretty cool and the singing was reasonable when I went in London, though as you say the leads don't always have the lungs for it.
Hell, Meat himself frequently had to have an oxygen tank on stage when performing...

Duotrigordle Consultant doesn't have the same ring to it. Sounds more like a mouthwash salesman
-
@Arantor yeah, I had similar thoughts. after doing bat out of hell you basically have to storm the bastille. I would do anything for love was a good closer but bat out of hell and the ridiculous of the its dance number overshadowed everything else. They missed a trick by not having a ride into the sunset on a Harley moment. There was a lot of heart and it was a good show though. Would recommend.
