Status: got a German speeding ticket ... for going 111km/h where it apparently was only 100 ...
€20 fee ... it costs them more to track me down, send me a snail mail letter in Dutch and handle my payment ...
€20 ... that is sure going to put my food on the brake ... hey at least I went from 160km/h to 110 when there was a speed limit so I'll count it as save driving ... that 160 was indeed a tad too much for a fully loaded car with 3 bikes on a bike rack behind it.Next time, do that in Switzerland.
Enjoy a three-digit Swiss Franks ticket.

No such luck in Switzerland or Italia this year ... only got my picture taken in Germany

Gah the fucking bane of my life. Ticketmaster is the worst of them. You want a $10 a person admin fee for hosting a website and sending a fucking email. Nice grift. If there ever was an company I would happily watch Amazon squash it would be ticketmaster.
Apparently, Ticketmaster are the designated bad guys. The venues/artists want more money than the face value of the tickets, but don’t want to put people off, so they advertise the lower price and also take a cut of the ticketmaster price gouging

This wouldn't suprise me in the least. A lot of independent places advertise a price but then have an admin or theathre maintainence fee. I have stopped at that point before. Include it in the price. Not as an addon. Getting the government to crack down on that nonsense from airlines was one of the few good things they've done in recent decades. They use to be able to advertise prices without airport fees.
STATUS Gah! Fucking ejbs. Your morale breaking code is on another fucking server that you don't have access too.

SeeTickets do show them like that:
Price including the booking fee first with the face value of the tickets in the brackets.
Which is good, but then the cheeky fuckers charge another £1.50 during checkout for emailing a PDF.

Some f*cking company (eventim? not sure about that) exaggerated that, with 20 Euros. A court then found out that they must deliver emails at no cost.

@TwelveBaud I need to transfer contacts to this sim so I can use it on an oldschool button phone.
Do those even take the same sized SIM?

No but adapters are available.

Status: Getting 0 data speed, because T-effing-Mobile decided to turn off auto-pay as part of their "new user experience" — such a wonderful improvement to UX — and I haven't gotten around to logging into their website to make a manual payment and enable it again. If all you luddites would get off the freaking 3G, there'd be more 4G bandwidth for everyone and it'd be more total bandwidth because 4G is more efficient than 3G with the same spectrum space

-
@PleegWat Oh, there was a
return
(it's Java so it's a required compiler error if you get that wrong, not a warning) but it was a helpfulreturn null
because I'd forgotten to put the right value in there instead of using the default from the template. Definitely my own fault, and not picked up by tracking of unused variables because the object I wanted to return was used in quite a few places while I built its contents.

Did you rear end a cop car into an orphanage?
-
@hungrier My last ticket was $1,000. Because apparently having any speeding ticket whatsoever makes your insurance premium go up 20% for three fucking years. For speeding on a highway in the middle of the night. FFS.

Maybe. Yet to see that in practice though.

I was going down a hill and a cop was at the bottom trapping everyone coming down the hill who didn't happen to be riding their brakes.

I got tagged once when I started accelerating for a hill too soon. The road went from 35 (where I was tagged at 46), to 45, to 55 (right at the bottom of the hill). He got me about 100ft before the 45.

Maybe the cop grew up in Europe where everyone has manual transmission so speeding up down the hill only happens when the driver is an idiot with no idea how to keep a car under control - a very dangerous thing, especially down the hill.

Your insurance costs $2000 per year??
-
@topspin it does now. 2022 car, two-way coverage, two drivers (in USA you pay per driver. Also per car, but also per driver.) I omitted some facts for brevity, such as my old insurance company never finding out about the ticket thus not bumping the premium until I switched this year.
Also the ticket shouldn't have happened in the first place because that particular police force had no jurisdiction over that particular road. But I was in USA only for a 2 week vacation so had no way to fight that in court. At the time I didn't know about the premium increase. I'd hire a lawyer if I did.
-
@Gąska that’s… a lot.

Now to make a Search function...
Search function implemented!
It's not as good as a NoSQL search function, since ya still gotta provide columns and how you want to to actually search it, but it supports grouping and limiting and even specifying the result column alias!
Just, don't have two columns named identically or you'll find only the right-most one is taken...
Syntax looks like so...
Easy, right?
