Jesus is filling in for St Peter on his day off at Pearly Gates duty, when an old man approaches. Jesus says welcome to Heaven, and asks if there's anyone here he'd like to see first.
The old man says, "Well, I used to be a carpenter. Many years ago, my wife had a son that I knew wasn't actually mine, but we both loved him and raised him as if he were. We sort of lost touch as he grew up and moved away from home, but I got word that he later underwent a miraculous transformation and was beloved by millions of people."
Jesus is nodding through all of this, tears welling up gradually in his eyes, until finally he stretches out his arms and cries out to the old man: "Father!"
The old man squints, looks quizzically at Jesus, and says, "Pinocchio?"

The dangers of a custom backplate for your mobile:
Yes, there's a mobile in this picture.

@Rhywden That would be a fantastic entry for /r/accidentalcamouflage, way better than the recent-ish trend of "my dog is kind of a similar colour to my carpet, hur hur hur"
-
@Rhywden Took me a while to find it.
-
@Zecc Yeah, didn't find it at first as well. Then I read where it should be... and still needed quite a bit of time to finally discover the bloody thing!

I looked at @zecc's picture and still didn't see it immediately.

I found it pretty fast ~30 seconds. But in the weirdest way. I didn't notice the pattern change, oh no. I noticed the slightly rounded edges of the phone sticking out.

@Gąska Beethoven was already a musician before he became deaf.
He started studying in 1775, at the age of 5, first performed publicly in 1778, published his first composition in 1783 (13 yo), and had a well-established reputation as a piano virtuoso by 1793. He began having hearing difficulties about 1796 and first mentioned it in a letter in 1801. He was still able to hear well enough to perform publicly, although it was becoming increasingly difficult, until 1811, when he attempted but failed to perform his Piano Concerto No. 5; he never performed publicly again. However, by that time he had already composed 6 of his 9 symphonies, all 5 piano concertos, his violin concerto, and numerous other works, as well as having had a successful performing career.

Some people even become musicians despite being quite deaf.

@dkf I am aware of Evelyn Glennie; I've heard recordings on the radio from time to time, although I'd never seen her before. However, I'm annoyed at YT (). Not only will it not allow the video to be embedded here, it won't allow me to add it to my "watch later" list.

I've had the good fortune to go to listen to her in concert twice, though quite a few years ago now. (The benefits of being a season pass holder for the yearly chamber music concerts, at least until Covid hit.) She certainly was a superb musician; may still be, but I've not listened to her recent work.

Judging by the state of popular music.

I'm not sure if the musicians are deaf, or just the people who listen to it.

I found it in about 10-15 seconds. And it was the denser black that drew my eyes to the spot. Once there, the difference in pattern was obvious.

Well, it depends if you really need 13 months labeled as "months". Take a look at many abonnement contracts, like mobile phones: you pay for 28 days, not for a month. So, in the end, you pay 13 times per year.
I'd like to suggest that to my employer, too. But I guess, in this special case, he would not be tricked.
Edit:
since the last paragraph seems to be misunderstood, let me clarify: suggest him to pay me every 28 days a full month's salary....

I believe some employers work like that. Not that it gives you any more overall per year.

As it happens, I've kept my mobile on pre-pay for as long as I've had one (getting close to twenty years now, I think...) - so no, I don't pay 13 times a year. More like four.

And here I was thinking the German cellphone landscape couldn't possibly become a bigger shitshow than it already was last time I looked. Apparently I was wrong.
