That was an hour ago and I don't see any e-mails.

Shit, did I take my meds already?
Do I want to risk taking double, or none?
I've come up with a good way of dealing with that. As soon as I wake up and walk in the bathroom, I take the pills out of the cabinet and place on the counter. (Have to eat something before I take them)
The only problem would be if I forget to take them out. So far, I seem to have firmly implanted that in my muscle memory.
I rely on fixed routine, but that's a little out of whack since I'm on paid time off this week.
My fixed routine has been out of whack since March.

@Luhmann Gentleman will wear suit and a tie in this fine dining establishment where we serve 17 exquisite kinds of hotte la Doge. If I may recommend our chef's special, Le Roquefort Chezanne Rubenesque, crispuous, yet consistent, mild texture of summer rain over wheat fields and the faint smell of EU-approved pesticide, with filling made of the finest ASDA value pack mustard creme and Denmark's finest free-range pig-sty produce, it goes well with Cabernet Sauvignon 1967 and Mozarella Lupara Blanco.
Pardon my French...

Seriously, Windows, why is this not an "Red Alert! All hands on deck!" klaxon-ringing emergency, on a SERVER OS!?!?
It trips a red flag in Server Manager. What more do you want?

I can't hear red flags.

No sound-color synesthesia for you. Or color-sound, which appears to be far less common, to the point Wikipedia doesn't even mention it.

You don't need a medical condition to hear colors as sound. Just get an old analog TV and detune it.
(yeah, I know it no longer works with digital TV. , etc.)

I'm pretty sure this only happens when YOU have it.

I don't know. Still learning. My PC has both addresses, main server does not. It tries to send ping to IPv4 address and gets nothing back. It pings other PC with no IPv6 address and all is well.

@Rhywden thanks. I'm extremely bad at articles; I mess them up all the time in all kinds of ways. We don't have them in Polish.
I've noticed that in your posts but don't point it out as you're still intelligible and I try not to be a grammar nazi dick (plus you're still more articulate than half of the Facebook comment so read from native speakers). Would you prefer it to be pointed out?
-
@Jaloopa no, I'd very rather not. It's beyond my understanding. I'm happy doing it 70% right.

Status: Okay, so that's probably a seriously newbie thing to google, but I found myself on SO to figure out how to Keep git history when splitting a file. This referred me back to the more general answer (which I actually googled first) on how to preserve git history while copying.
( revision history ) ( files ) ORIG_HEAD foo / \ / \ SAVED ALTERNATE bar copy \ / \ / MERGED bar,copy | | RESTORED bar,foo
It's that simple. :)
Yeah, simple. You know what, I think I've actually understood it and thanks, but fuck that. Guess I won't preserve history.

I quite like it. It's a good way to do that while getting around any licensing issues
-
@hungrier No, I mean when somebody rips ST:TNG season 3 and posts the episodes with the commentaries turned on. Some random writers just keep talking (mostly filler) over the episode to the point that it's hard to follow the episode itself. Thus my asking if I was just supposed to dig up my DVDs and watch them instead.
"Hey, remember why the carpet was off color in this scene? LOL, what a story, but not for now, because Geordi is about to stop explaining this important plot point."
-
@Zenith I'm not sure if that's better or worse than the people who post complete movies badly dubbed into Russian, with the same bored guy reading all the dialog — men, women, children — in the same voice.
-

I saw some movies like that on Latvian busses and trains. It was bad. One thing I remember was that all the different vulgarities were translated as one word.

Presumably, you mean voiced over, that is: the original dialogue is still (somewhat) audible under the voice?
Surprising though it may be, that has been the preferred method of localizing TV in Poland since... well, forever - and it looks like this is the case for Russia, too.
It's not considered dubbing, as such (which would replace the original actors' voices with localized ones), but rather "reading the dialogue" - much as you would, if it were subbed - hence the deadpan delivery.
-
@GOG said in The Official Status Thread:

Yeah. The original dialog still present, just barely, but it's so low it's almost impossible to pick out more than a single word here and there. You can maybe tell which actor, male or female, is speaking, but that's about it.

Huh. I always assumed the reason these weren't taken down for copyright violations was that they were so crappy that nobody would want to watch them, so the owners didn't care enough to bother. But if that's the preferred way to watch them, that kinda shoots a hole in that hypothesis.
