We won't know until Sat. Maybe.

Yeah. I've never had a great experience in Lowes. Home Depot at least gets out of my way (to the point I have to track people down at times). And their selection is lacking.

That's what I use. Since I'm sitting in Ubuntu... (I use the downloaded Outlook when in Windows - usually only boot to that when it's password changing time)

You can run into some good ones. But in general the big box stores suck at helpful people.

I remember walking into the ER once with a prominent hole in my head. Despite my physical condition I still felt smug skipping the hour-long queue of patients with less severe conditions.

The DMG clearly states that the upper bound for a town is 6k. And that most cities are under 25k. So 30k is a very big city!
What...we weren't talking about D&D? My bad.

Worse, it's Velocity (yes I know that's the wrong syntax).
And I think what actually happened is the

@Zerosquare @TimeBandit Couple of things. Once I had the lid off, heat did seem closer to the power supply. It's a weird format so it's going to cost $100 for a spare (my case is super cool, looks like a Betamax player, but it's definitely non-standard as a result). Technically, I bought two of these setups, but I'm that idiot that buys doubles of lots of stuff and can't/won't do anything with the backup. Also, it was very dusty and one of the case fans didn't spin up right away. Clearing the dust appears to have resolved it for now.
-
There's this weird phenomenon when you send an email to 6+ people asking a question or assigning a task when only one person needs to respond.
Everybody just assumes someone else will do it.

I insisted that today's scheduled prod launch be only to our UAT environment so we can test it.
Testing in UAT, we found some things that are broken, which don't seem directly related to the changes we made.
I rolled the code back, and that stuff is still broken. No one remembers if it ever worked in UAT. So we don't know if we broke it or if it's just been broken all along.
Why do we have a UAT environment?

Am I permitted to? Yes. Can I find the fucking link for our portal for that stuff? Ho ho ho. Do I want to? Hell no! It organises mail in about the same way that Outlook does, and that just does my head in. (I've tried it a few times over the years. The utter lack of any concept of threading makes managing a complex correspondence impossible.)

I'm just annoyed that I have to click the calendar view (the "My Day" thing on the right) every time because it won't remember the setting.

@izzion said in The Official Status Thread:

I 'unno. Up until a few days ago, it was an on-premises Exchange with IMAP properly enabled and everything just worked fine. They're moving everything over to a hosted Office 365 system because the way we were working previously was meaning that no staff member could use a modern version of Office and that was becoming a serious ballache for some parts of the organisation. (I didn't care much. Current team avoids those things.)
Unfortunately, MS have decided that using interoperable authentication protocols when not using IMAP Just Isn't Their Thing, and our IT people (who seem to have gone down in quality rapidly in the past decade or so) have decided to not turn on IMAP for the hosted Exchange server so my email client can't connect. My credentials are correct (I can use them to log into other things with 2FA checks) but client and server just don't agree on the auth protocol.
So far, all I've done about this is get angry and read a bunch of confusing web pages that make no sense to me.
And/or what barbarian software do your colleagues use that fucks up the headers enough that Exchange/Outlook can't thread it?
That might've been a long time ago, but the UI presentation I've seen others using is still fundamentally not oriented to the way I think. I also don't like webmail for being altogether too keen to hide technical email headers: other people might not read
Received:
headers, but I do! They're a great way to track just how much a suspicious message should be trusted since you can use them to see if there's been any unhygienic routing history. But I'm digressing…The point is, I'm a fairly advanced user of email and I've never been able to get used to Outlook. The few times I've tried over the years, I've always ended up thinking “Yuck!” and going back to Thunderbird (or Netscape before that; the email programs before that were unable to cope with spam well enough).

That was caused by the fact that our students have been moved over long ago, but the way they did it ended up marking, in Microsoft's collective mind, all email accounts at our organisation that mapped to staff as being unable to be used at all to log into any MS service. Until the recent move, there was a steady stream of users at the helpdesk seeking some way to work around this. It did need to be fixed. (I can sort of hold bits and pieces of the ideas about how it came about in my head, but not the whole of it; it was definitely a screwup, and one many years old.)
I just don't see why my email access had to be sacrificed to bring the fix about. I also don't see why MS had to implement their version of OAuth2 incompatibly.
