@levicki. Gentleman, engineer, tentacle porn conneisseur.
Challenge: how many of these statements are false?
For me? Or....

@levicki That it technically existed before, doesn't mean its modern resurgence can't be due to that.

I'm sure @mott555 is going to be thrilled in this topic first learning about Latin grammar, then Polish grammar and now, of all things, origins of tentacle porn. In that order of being messed up.

Me neither, though there’s still the nope thread.
But could you please not jinx it?!

Are gangbang, BDSM, and incest more normal than tentacles?
The first two, sure.

@levicki Have you tried reporting these to Microsoft? I'm sure they would love to hear your feedback.

They can close it during next year's clean up.
-
@levicki I'm sure it is. And in case you ever wonder why things like this happen, there's your answer.

@levicki said in WTF Bites:
@loopback0 The BDSM is essentially power play so at least to me it's not normal that someone wants to dominate others and someone to want to be dominated even if it is consensual. People have free will, nobody should get turned on by taking it away from others or worse yet, giving it away.
As for gangbang, today's sluts don't seem happy unless their every hole has at least 3 dicks in it, plus at least one in each hand, and a bonus if they can wank another one with their feet. Maybe the society should promote that into olympic sport, or at least into a circus act because that's what it ultimately is.
Oh, don't stop now, it was just getting good. Where's the part about homosexuality? That's, like, the bread and butter of 'I am judgmental of what people do in the bedroom' rants.

Why would Microsoft care about gangbang BDSM incest?

Better customer satisfaction than Windows 10?!

10/10 people enjoy gangbangs.

Bad metric
9 of 10 people enjoy gang rapes.

@topspin Ha. I was just about to post that to a different topic.

What? Power play is ubiquitous in sex.
BDSM is just taking it up a notch.

The beta Xbox app for Windows.
Asks you where you want to install a game, then tells you that the drive isn't setup for installing games and suggests the solution as setting it as default for ALL apps.
I assume by "not set up" it means Windows hasn't created the secret folders on that drive it uses when you install apps on a drive, as simply installing it on a different volume and using the Windows control panel to move the app onto that drive worked fine and now the Xbox app sees G: as useable.
Bonus WTF is that even though the Install button appears disabled (it's green on a useable drive) you can click it anyway and the install attempts to start before quickly failing with a typical Microsoft error code.
-
@loopback0
Looks like it's ready for production!
-
@loopback0 said in WTF Bites:

Do you need to format the sectors first?!
-
@topspin It's only mostly nonsensical. For example, Steam creates additional folders for workshop files, so that stuff doesn't overwrite game files, and keeps a temp folder, so downloads don't clog up your system temp. Now, if it could have forced devs to also keep savegames and settings out of whatever AppData/Roaming/My Documents hell they're usually at... oh well.

@levicki I sure didn't say anything about Japan. At least I don't think I did. Maybe it's a language barrier issue?

Remember how in 2008 you could just bind a button in your view to a command in your viewmodel and the command told the button when to disable and it all Just Worked™?

WTF of my day: So, you may remember that the G20 happened two years ago in Hamburg. Such hooplah, many left-extremists, much police, big wow.
Quite a number of incidents were created because the "black bloc" was engaged by the police - the official reason was stated as due to the ban on wearing face coverings. I.e. if you don't show your face at a political demonstration you're breaking the law.
Needless to say, when the black bloc is already on a hair trigger and the police also has been officially told to be very aggressive (due to a hardliner who doesn't seem to have a clue as to exactly why incidents with the left went down in recent years - couldn't have been related to de-escalating tactics, no, not at all ), this will yield explosive results. Anyways, that was one of the reasons for stuff escalating.
Please also note that when asked about the masks, the police explicitly stated that "the law is the law".
Fast forward to today.
There was a semi-major demonstration by right-extremists in Hannover. Quite a number of spectators and counter-demonstrators were irritated that a lot of those shitheads were wearing masks. And the police was doing nothing about that.
Later the police did give an explanation through their official Twitter account:
The demonstrators did not wish to be identified by the press. Also, the face coverings were not intended to prevent identification.
Two minutes later they also tweeted that
There's a categorical ban on wearing face coverings
I'm really not sure that the person doing those tweets is the sharpest tool in the shed. You couldn't contradict yourself more if you tried.

I just clicked on it, and imgur loaded a higher-res version, which was still tiny, but Ctrl-mouse wheel zoom solved that. Then I wished I hadn't. Java is bad enough. Centering the source text is worse. But why, oh why was every // comment prefixed by http:?
-
@HardwareGeek I guess, without having read it, it’s some kind of joke relying on the fact that http:// is syntactically valid (a label followed by a comment)?

Slack likes prefixing hostnames intended as SSH targets with
