The Steam Winter Sale is on, but it looks like many of the games I want aren't getting very big discounts.
- Bloodstained: 30% off. Makes sense, it's pretty new
- Baba Is You: 20% off, also pretty new
- Cuphead: also only 30% off. That game is over two years old
- Stardew Valley: 40% off. Getting a bit warmer, but still not as deep of a discount as one might expect
But at least Talos Principle is 85% off just like every other sale. I don't know why I even keep it in my wishlist to be honest; I doubt I'm ever going to buy it
-
@hungrier If you're fine buying a game from other online retailers (that give Steam codes):
https://isthereanydeal.com/game/bloodstainedritualofnight/info/
That shows IndieGala and Fanatical both have it at 41% off and GamersGate has it at 39% off.
Also gives a reason to point out the IsThereAnyDeal site, which you can make an account via your Steam login and have it alert you of certain sales or points where games on your Steam wishlist end up on sale down to a specific percent or dollar amount. You can also configure it so it only considers the items if they are redeemed on Steam so you aren't alerted when GOG has them for sale.

It's a pretty good first-person puzzler. You should get it if you're into that.
-
@Zecc Maybe I'll get it with the money I saved buying Bloodstained from Indiegala
-
Better than a fork in the eye

The "Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta)" appears to cost only $1/month right now, and it lets you access a fuckton of good games. I don't know if the discount only applies for the first month, but even in that case it seems like a fantastic deal to me.
-
@anonymous234 First month, after which it's £3.99/$4.99 which is still pretty good value.

Well, if you play games more often than twice a year anyways...
-
The article and store link inside is but I'm sure they have the same or similar deal elsewhere

Does Humble Bundle even do game bundles anymore or is it just their store and monthly subscription service, plus book bundles?
-
@hungrier And "training" bundles.

I just got an email for this:
-
@boomzilla That's what prompted my post. Unless I'm confusing it for something else, Humble Choice is their monthly subscription service
-
@hungrier oh. I don't read those so closely. I'm honestly more interested in the non-game bundles.

Yes, they still do the game bundles (I bought one quite recently) although there's not one now.
-
I guess John Bundle must be reading this thread, because they've got a new one with games:
Unfortunately for them I just bought Stardew Valley on Switch the other day, and I've never heard of any of the other games.
-
More Humbling, more Bundling,
moreless Fire:I think I'm getting this one; there's a few games in this list that I'd like and don't already have.
-
Sony sale:
Even though it's called "save up to 50%" there are some games that are discounted by a lot more than that:
The BioWare Bundle — $23.99 (regularly $79.99)
Middle-earth: Shadow of War Definitive Edition — $19.99 (regularly $79.99)
Watch Dogs 2 — $17.49 (regularly $69.99)
-
@hungrier Save up to 50% or more!

I knew I posted in the wrong thread. Linker error prevented me from finding the correct one due to unresolved internals...

@Tsaukpaetra I was going to say @Zecc has a convenient list of threads like this in his user profile, but it appears Game Deals
isn'twasn't there.Instead there's "Shitzenbergerslop"e: updated

Lies!
-
@Zecc At some point I need to put that on a Gist and link to it instead, because I've hit the 1000 character limit.
But.. you know.. I'm bsy.
-
Apparently the two first Elder Scrolls games are just free to download
I'd say that counts as a deal!
-
@anonymous234 But will they run on modern hardware and OSes?
-
@Mason_Wheeler Probably! The game files for the first one include a single .exe and a .pdf with "instructions". The instructions reveal it's a DOSBox wrapper and was built for Windows XP. If a DOSBox binary worked in XP it almost certainly works in Windows 10.

DOSBox games work fine on Windows 10, if it's properly configured. Gog uses DOSBox extensively.

This post is deleted!

Save 100% on some MMORPG with good reviews.

EXTREME pay2win
-Not mentioning the game will install 3rd party anti cheat SPYWARE on my PC is not nice.

Castlevania SOTN is out on mobile, but don't play some shitty touch screen version of this amazing game. Get one of these instead:
- Castlevania Requiem (PS4) (bundle with Rondo of Blood, another excellent game)
- Castlevania SOTN ps1 classic (PS3, PSP, Vita)
- it used to be on Xbox Live, maybe there's still a version of it available there
- find the original Playstation version and emulate it

This is what I did, since I didn't play it back in the day. By then, though, I'd already played the six GBA and DS Castlevania games multiple times on both their original hardware and in emulation, so it lost a lot of its impact on me. The emulated loading times didn't help either, and (of course) I already knew the twist.
It's still a great game, especially in context, but with all of them available I prefer Aria of Sorrow. I also have a soft spot for Portrait of Ruin even if it's not the greatest of the set.

My phone has informed me that DARQ is on sale on Steam, 50% off with free DLC. I don't remember adding it to my wishlist but from looking at the store page it looks interesting:
-
@hungrier According to all the reviews the game is very short. The author even says it's 50% off for the time being because people were getting bummed that it was €17 for something they could complete in 1-2 hours. However, free DLCs are in the works so the promotion will likely not be prolonged after the 16th of March.
Hard to say what the quality / playtime of those DLCs is though...
EDIT: At least the reviews that matter. Apparently the author had the guts to say no to Epic's exclusivity offer and now you find reviews "Best game evar!!1!" all over the place.

Nuclear Throne is crazy cheap for a couple days:

Tomb raider reboot for free

And another one:
-
And some more:
NOTE: I would just consider linking to a Steam search for free games but I can't get their search to show them (with the "Narrow by Price" set to free and the "Free to Play" tag excluded, Steam seems to not have their search work for that, nor will filter these 100% off games correctly).
This is the best I can do: https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/#/filter:&giveaway,&search/FREE on Steam,&active
-
I'll link to this one, just 'cause:
Currently under an 85% discount. I don't own it so I can't recommend it, but the reviews are very positive

JC3 is brilliant.
Also brilliant is JC4, conveniently under discount too at the moment thanks to the Square Enix promotion

Crap. Since I never actually used it I forgot I had created an Epic account, I could have registered these two.
I mean, I already own them elsewhere, but it's the principle of the thing.
