@PleegWat Based solely on those two tweets, one of the two twits seems much more rational than the other.
Today I had a Brexshiteer tell me this gem:
If you think we will step back from the abyss I think and hope you are greatly mistaken.
When I told him that this wasn't the best way to phrase it he didn't understand me. Quelle surprise.

He doubled down on it by quoting Milton's "It's better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven!"
Which sort of creates the unfortunate connotation of Brexshiteers being demons, them serving Satan and overlooking that this sentence was propaganda by Lucifer in order to put lipstick on a pig. ("Yah, so we lost. And this place is rather uncomfortable. But look on the bright side!")
Not to mention that Milton himself refuted that sentiment in a later passage through the angel Abdiel.
And, of course, yes, you're reigning in hell. But it's still hell.

You can always point out that their actual plan (ho ho ho!) ends up with them serving as Satan's cumdumpster in hell.

Wait, did I read that correctly, did Scientology actually air a 30 second ad during the Super Bowl?
(I'm not going to watch Football and I'm definitely not going to click a link to Scientology propaganda to find out.)Actually, I'm a bit surprised Scientology isn't in the news more often since Leah Remini's show came out.
I'm surprised they aren't in court more often.

I didn't watch, but apparently. TFA links the ad on youtube. It's pretty vague but with some inspiring sort of imagery.
I'm surprised they aren't in court more often.
I think most people just try to ignore them and keep away, if they're even aware. Which is pretty sad for the people on the inside.

I tend to believe (which implies that I haven't really thought it through and that it isn't necessarily true) that overpopulation is the root cause of a very broad set of today's problems. It can't be practically solved, however, so the post-post-hipster stumblefuck can impale himself on his own beard for all I care.

Article is eurowalled. But at least you won't have to fear for a repeat of the Genua bridge disaster.
Article:
RICHMOND (KRON) - Both directions of the Richmond-San Rafael bridge are closed after large pieces of concrete fell from the upper deck on to the lower deck.
According to CHP Marin, a call came in around 11 a.m. to report that a chunk of concrete had fallen on a vehicle. The caller said her vehicle sustained damage, but she couldn't stop because she was rushing to the airport.
When crews arrived they noticed that chunks of concreteāsome equivalent to the size of a footballāhad broken apart from the upper deck and onto the lower deck near the toll plaza.
CHP reassures that this is an isolated incident and is not a widespread issue.
Drivers are being ushered off the bridge, so CalTrans engineers can inspect the damage and determine the cause.
There is no estimated time of re-opening, but authorities say the bridge will likely remain closed through the evening commute.
Use Highway 37, 101 or the Bay Bridge as alternative routes.
