'tis a sad day when I have no clue if that's a joke or not :/
-
@Tsaukpaetra MP4 is just a name; very few these days are actually MPEG-4. Are you sure it's not in some arcane codec? Because Movies & TV is more than capable of playing most videos.

Huh. Apparently ffmpeg decided magic at some point. This is what I get for copy-pasting shit from SO...

Only to play H.265-encoded files in Microsoft's players. Use MPC or VLC instead.

I told it to do one file in H.264. It couldn't open that one either.

Well, the other media players should handle that too. :)
There's also the "HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer" plug-in, which may work for you if you have a recent video card or recent generation Intel built-in video.

I have a 1080. pretty sure that's not the problem.
Video plays just fine in VLC.

Sounds good. Did you install the Device Manufacturer version of the plug-in? Did it work in Edge or Movies and TV? I haven't tried using the MS players in years.

Wasn't offered and can't find it.
And I'm no longer interested in ensuring my conversion of these 4k videos at 500Mb/s video files (read: That's apparently 1 GB for 10 seconds of video) are compatible with everything.
-
@Tsaukpaetra Well, FWIW:
In the Store it showed up as already owned but not installed; I found it in "My Library" by only showing Apps. I went ahead and installed it (I have a 1060 now) and threw a few HEVC-encoded files at the Movies and TV app. It played the video parts fine; a couple didn't play the audio, but that's apparently a separate problem with that app. I think I'll stick to MPC-HC for now.

Weird. Couldn't for the life of me find it using any search terms.
Installed.
Now it doesn't complain there are not codecs. But it still doesn't play it. It knows how long it is (19 seconds for the longest) clip, but immediately skips to the end regardless of what I do.
Oh well.

@Tsaukpaetra It was worth a shot, I guess. :(

Working well as usual. Unfortunately I do not know if I should blame the incompetent devs behind the planning tool or Microsoft who manages our SSO solution. At least the mobile app works...

Which one? Did you clear your cookies and try again?
-
@Tsaukpaetra I cleared the cookies for the SSO and it worked. So I can blame Microsoft. Yay! For some reason it had 15(!) cookies tied to the domain the SSO is on.
-
@Atazhaia Yeah. I used to have to do things like that with Jenkins so that error message triggered me.
Triggerrrr!!!!!

I have a roll of packing tape I liberated from Dispatch that I use to de-cat-hair my office chair. One cat is half white/half black so his fur is perfect for showing up on any surface...

I used to always get that when trying to access MSDN using Chrome. Finally just said and use Firefox to access MSDN.

Well, the problem is that they're trying to square the circle. But not honoring the Good Friday Agreement will mean a return of the Troubles.
It hasn't been long enough for the old guard to die out - and I've seen articles about quite a number of people poised to revive the IRA, ULA et al.
I seriously won't bet any money on there not being any explosions or riots come April 1st.
Something that is conspiciously absent in the debates.

That one is easy
The real question is if the hard drive breaks before the glasses arrive.

Status: Whoever developed auto-billing can go die in a fire. I just had my car insurance cancelled due to non-payment because something in their auto-billing system failed and I guess it's too difficult to either try again or perhaps notify me that I had a payment due.
As bad as IT really is, I'm dumbfounded that the world works as well as it does.
Good grief. So, basically my credit card was compromised and locked due to a fraudulent charge...but nobody told me this. Then everything I have set up to auto-bill on that card got rejected...and nobody told me this. Not a single company alerted me and said "Hey, our transaction was rejected, wanna fix that for us?" Now I was just notified by my landlords that my renters insurance was cancelled and that needs to be addressed ASAP. Looked it up, and yep, it was cancelled due to non-payment and my insurance provider never told me this even though they told my landlords.
You couldn't make this system worse if you tried.

Dang. The CC company should have at least contacted you. I'd say they have the majority of the blame - cause if they'd told you, you could have prevented all the others.

To clarify, they did contact me about the fraudulent charge and I confirmed I didn't know what it was. And then I thought that was the end of it. They didn't tell me the card was going to be deactivated or locked, and they didn't go through the process to get me a replacement card with a new number. It's like whoever dealt with me only did the first step in the checklist and then forgot what they were supposed to do.
