Internally, it is.

I'm thinking I want to make a function on this object to clean that shit up.

I hate hospitals. Slept overnight at a hospital. (I wasn't the patient, family member was.) Took a shower back home and I still feel grungy.

Status: I want to go home and finish my immersive writing app. The windows store has many, but 90% are plaintext. I just want to make super simple RTF thing that respects your theme settings, and lets you change font sizes and stuff even.
It even almost works! All that's left is getting the font and font size boxes to update when your selection changes, which... turns out to be awful. Running an event on every keypress to run property changed events causes noticeable freezes. Which is dumb.
But it's all acrylic, and has the reveal effect!

Status: Master Server will now do its best to transfer players from a to-be-slain instance to a new instance!
This means that they won't just get kicked back to the main menu (and have to wait for the level instance to become available) before continuing wherever they left off, but (should) already have a level waiting for them, which should result in a much shorter reload time...

Love those. Usually ends up being an uninitialized variable (I do C++).

(I spent a few days as a patient. Sleep is only accomplished a couple hours at a time.)The ward we were in had just started doing night shifts, so we didn't need to be moved into the main hospital, and we were the only patient in the ward (except one in an isolation room way down the way).
A nice (in most respects) nurse found me a reclinerish chair.

Not much...
Tons of alts were created. Mostly nobody commented. Someone mentioned someone for the first time. Some people had anniversaries.
Seems lit.

@maciejasjmj The no. of desktop notifications that you get are notification times the number of WTDWTF tabs you have open. If you have 6 tabs open, you get the same notification 6 times. That is not a bug, that is a feature to remind you that you might be spending too much time on here.
-
@stillwater Except sometimes I get up to three notifications for one upvote.
-
@tsaukpaetra I've personally found desktop notifications to be wildly fucky. Dealing with apps that are a million times worse than this has made me immune to such things.

Personally I'm really happy when I get notifications. Just... Slightly less when they're all for the same post.

YouTube, notifications
They've got a big horny case of "let me decide which things you think are important, even though the act of subscribing was sign enough that you just wanted to know all of them".
Here, let me save you some trouble in the future:
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?user=USERNAME
OR
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=CHANNELID
OR
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?playlist_id=PLAYLISTID
Dump those into your favorite RSS thingy. I just have a folder in my bookmark toolbar called "videos", and once I day I scroll through to see if anything's new (assuming I don't hear about a new video on Twitter first).

For extra fun, I then dump the link into youtube-dl.
I almost never, ever have to deal with YouTube's UI, or shitty alogrithms, or comments, or anything. It's wonderful.

Does anyone else get the impression that there are fewer wireless mice today than 5 years ago? As if we collectively decided they are a bad idea and just went back?
The one and only thing I like about them is there's no cord to pull on / give resistance to the mouse. I've used some people's wireless mice where the cord hangs down off the desk, and it's heavy enough to be a slight-but-constant pull backwards. It's enough to give RSI. The first thing I do is thread the mouse cord underneath their keyboard, around the legs, so it gets rid of that resistance.
Other than that, my experience has been:
- Bluetooth mouse that doesn't connect to anything Bluetooth
- RF mouse that has such a weak connection, you need to keep the receiver ON the mousepad
- A landfill of dead batteries

Update: Did it. I am excite. :P
Realized I can't even remember the last time I indulged myself with something, so why not.
If I ever get through my pile of GameCube, PS2, Xbox, PS3, Wii and Xbox360 games, I might pick up a PS4. There's some console exclusives that look neat. Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Dad of War.

Have you considered bank robbery? There's zero resistance, and as long as you don't get greedy and stop after a couple, you'll have enough put away to last you quite a while.

Had two of those recently. Was a .Net project that, when built in Release mode, compiled all the app_code and .aspx.vb stuff into a single .dll.
- Soft-Circular reference. An ascx in Folder1 referred to an ascx in Folder2. A DIFFERENT ascx in Folder2 referred to a DIFFERENT ascx in Folder1.
- Conflicting .dll versions. There's a bunch of projects in the solution that build into the website's /bin folder as .dlls. The Website's reference as all BIN to that folder. But one of them accidentally got set as PROJECT pointing back at the project. When built in release, .net basically saw 2 different versions of the same .dll in the final compiled (one in the /Bin, one created by the project reference).
inb4: ur miixing up .net framework and language and-- yeah, go fuck off.

Status: In a shocking start of the 8 hour journey, the train departed on time. The next fun will be to see if I’ll make the connections (two) and if I’ll arrive at my destination on time. Also, in a silly move by my friend, he forgot I was coming down today and thought I was coming down tomorrow. Which would have been silly by me as Dreamhack opens tomorrow morning and I do wanna be in and all set up before the designated setup period is over and it goes lights out.
The next exciting thing will be to see if my screen and computer survives the journey. Mainly the screen as I got no proper protection so it may get all smashed up and leak fluids everywhere it shouldn’t. Although that would only accelerate it getting replaced rather fast.
-
@atazhaia said in The Official Status Thread:

What kind of dangerous journey is this?
-
@stillwater Well, I have wrapped them in blankets and packed them both in my big bag with a pillow to cushion the screen (not optimal, I know) and due to the layout of the bag, the screen needed to be packed on the bottom, so yeah... The computer will probably be fine, though. Even though it temporarily runs on spinning rust drives for cost-saving purposes those should be able to handle the journey.
-
This still happens sometimes, only in Chrome, for the past couple years across different machines. I think I'm cursed.
Thankfully it goes away if you so much as move the mouse sometimes (or it tries to flicker fast enough to cause a seizure).

Schema change? (Yeah, we're seriously talking about that "hey for simplicity let's just throw the database away and redownload it!" Yup, that'll go over well for users with 20GB+ databases...)
-
@lb_ They thought it was a good idea to implement their own scroll bars, so it wouldn't be that surprising if they were doing some silly low-level stuff with rendering that would crap itself like that.
