tl;dr:
Customer asks about a feature old games used to have.
Dev replies that they don't have it because they never knew anyone who used it, then asks why they're interested.
Customer replies it's because it makes it easier for them to play due to their disability, but is enthusiastic about playing it anyway.
Dev replies two hours later saying they added it in.

As a plus, they already have a working layout for the Mobile port!

I have in the past used a wow addon that did something like that - reducing viewport size was a significant performance boost on a subpar video card.

@dreikin what game is it? It reminds me of the old wizards & warriors

I think it's Legend of Grimrock

Which IMO is awesome, and LoG 2 is even better.

@dreikin yeah thanks for reminding me how awesome 2012 started off, but we're here in the depressing future of 2018 where asset flips flood Steam and triple-A game companies are fighting legal battles so they can keep exploiting whales for money through the same psychological tricks used in gambling. You got any 2018 anti-WTFs? I could use some of those.

so they can keep exploiting whales for money through the same psychological tricks used in gambling
I've been hating on stuff like Steam cards, summer sales (gamifying buying games) and TF2 keys for many years and no one ever agreed with me. "It's their money, you can't tell people how to spend it!"
Now that companies other than Valve do it suddenly everyone agrees that it's wrong. Gee, thanks.

What @madjoki said. LoG was intentionally made that way to harken back to those older games.

What's wrong with Steam cards? You mean gift cards, right?
The summer sale game thing never caught my attention (didn't you just get trading cards? Or was there more?) so I never built up an opinion on that.
I've hated locked crates since I first encountered them. Pissed me off when PUBG added them too.

Trading cards, those things you get randomly from having time played in a game, and you are guaranteed to never get a full set, so you have to buy the rest on the community market for real money (or trade away something you don't want). IIRC you need multiple full sets to get stuff like wallpapers and steam profile custom background images. All random of course.
I honestly don't know much of how it works because I avoid it as much as I can.
-
and you are guaranteed to never get a full set
Not quite. You can get a full set by using gems obtained from recycling other cards you don't want to make booster packs, but you're better off trading with friends or whatever.

I never had any idea they gave you anything. I occasionally go through and stick all of my cards up on the market for a few pence each and otherwise don't think about them
-
@jaloopa Doing enough of them also increases your Steam profile level, which lets you have more people on your Steam friends list...
...yes, that's actually a thing...
...as well as lets you put more "showcases" on your profile.
Seriously, though, how often do you look at other peoples profiles?
-
I've never looked at other people's profiles and I think I've only looked at mine once in the beginning.
I have no friends and I really don't care about the social side of Steam. I just want to plays games.I occasionally go through and stick all of my cards up on the market for a few pence each and otherwise don't think about them
Sounds like work

Oh, ewww. I didn't realize it was anything more than just the cards.
