I've got one of those.
Only thing giving me pause is the 720x1280 screen, since I'm coming from a 1080 screen. I don't have a point of comparison for that. How does the screen / text / etc look? I don't really watch movies (e: on the phone), but it'd be good to know the resolution isn't shit and all the text on websites is blurry.
I'm not the right person to comment on the crispness of a screen. My eyesight is so bad that I'm legally blind without glasses. HiDPI is entirely wasted on me because I can't see the difference as screens are always blurry to me. But I don't have any problems with it.

Mailbox. What's that?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Post#Attempt_to_phase_out_door-to-door_delivery
In 2014, Canada Post began to phase out door-to-door service in urban centres, in favour of community mailboxesโa process that was estimated to affect 32% of Canadian addresses (subdivisions built after 1985 already use community mailboxes, and customers using rural mailboxes would not be affected). This change was instituted by Stephen Harper's Conservative government,[42] and was meant to be a cost-cutting measure in the face of financial losses, due primarily to the decreased use of traditional mail in favour of electronic alternatives.[43][44]
The plan proved controversial; the CUPW criticized the move, which was expected to result in the loss of at least 8,000 jobs, by arguing that Canada Post should have attempted to expand its services to include new offerings, such as postal banking, rather than cutting jobs and reducing services.[44] In 2015, the CUPW filed a federal lawsuit demanding that the roll-out be suspendedโan action endorsed by Mayor of Montreal Denis Coderre.[45] Concerns were also raised about the effect of this change on seniors and people with disabilities. [42] During the 2015 Canadian federal election campaign, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau promised to halt the cutbacks at Canada Post and the shift to community mailboxes.[46][44]
On October 26, 2015 following Trudeau's victory in the election, Canada Post announced that it would place the discontinuation of door-to-door delivery "on hold in an orderly fashion", and that it would collaborate with the government on evaluating the future of the mail system in Canada.[45] On January 24, 2018, the Liberal government announced that it had officially halted the future deployment of community mailboxes, and will focus on finding other methods of expanding Canada Post's services in the future. Canada Post will not reintroduce door-to-door delivery in areas where it was already discontinued, but stated that an advisory panel would assist in addressing accessibility issues related to them.[42]
That last bit of "not re-introducing to areas they already fucked over"-- that me!

It's a USPS delivery. I know Americans are absolute shit at both geography and literacy, but the "US" in USPS is "United States", and Canada isn't the "United States".
PS: Your mom is always getting stuck at the border-- by horny immigrants!

Ordering from Amazon.com to deliver to a US address doesn't involve Canada Post at all. You really don't understand anything, do you?

How often do you hit said buttons while typing? Curious arachnids want to know!
-
@tsaukpaetra never. They're on the side, well away from the keyboard
-
@jaloopa said in Android phone with physical buttons:

Exactly. Whereas with the back, home, and switch tasks buttons, they're basically part of the keyboard sense area, and thus quite easy to hit on accident unless honest trained muscle memory to avoid it.
-
@tsaukpaetra said in Android phone with physical buttons:

Which is funny because I don't recall ever seeing a problem with them. Not even when I started using the phone (before that muscle memory stuff would have kicked in). Also, on new enough Android I believe you can pop the soft buttons out of the way if you want. A short swipe up from the bottom of the screen restores them.

Oh I'm not talking about soft buttons. I'm taking about the capacitive ones that aren't on the screen proper but are instead little cutouts in the paint below the screen.
-

My phone doesn't have them. Instead, it multiplexes them into the fingerprint scanner below the screen (which I've totally not configured as a login method because I don't trust biometrics) in a way I can't remember now. I just keep the on-screen ones there most of the time.

Yeah, I suppose I'm just special that it bothers me.
Self evident by my choice of keyboard, I suppose...
The touch sensitivity of the pseudo hardware buttons begins about 2mm below the screen.

It seems extremely funny but also disconcerting to me, that as I age, I always find myself the exact same level of anxious whenever I order stuff online.
I thought this feeling would go away or that at least I'd take it. But no, I'm still a little kid when waiting for the new stuff to arrive.

That one would drive me round the bend. ;) Fortunately, the soft keyboard is a user-changeable component.
