Some people occasionally mention they'll be leaving soon, but then they remain seated and keep talking.
Please god let it end.

If I were in a meeting like that (which I have been), my work emergency would be "If I stay here any longer, I'm gonna flip out and strangle some one. So I'm leaving. Bye."

It still pisses me off that the idiots who designed TypeScript didn't fucking google the file extension first.
Probably every possible combination of 1, 2, or 3 letters has been used as an extension for some file type by somebody somewhere, making any short file extension conflict with something already existing. Maybe something obscure, but something.
Why make 'em short?

@izzion I am on vacation!

Well, you sounded like you need a vacation from your vacation, so I thought I'd help out

@cartman82 Why don't you leave? Go see a movie or something.

@rhywden said in The Official Status Thread:
Replace the direct feed with a Bowden feed which has two advantages:
In my Cube 3, the lack of filament control near the hotend caused a lot of oozing since retracting wouldn't take effect until after all the tension between the Bowden gear in the cartridge and the actual hot end had been relaxed. You might not have that problem though.
@rhywden said in The Official Status Thread:
a) Inserting new filament doesn't require a complete disassembly of the extruder feeder
Don't you just pop the idler, pull the old filament out, and push the new filament in? Pretty much every printer I've seen without a cartridge system does that, including my Trinus and my fiancee's Prusa i3...
@rhywden said in The Official Status Thread:
Maybe adding a second extruder?
You definitely want to add an ooze shield in your slicer or some sort of "waste bin prime and wipe" system like the Cube 3 has. It'll use more filament, possibly a lot more, but it'll keep your print from being polka dotted or pockmarked with the "wrong" filament.

@blakeyrat leaving early isn't very nice, but that's just what I did.
I am a bad family member.

@twelvebaud I may try to talk the relevant parties at my school into buying one of these:
Along with the actual printer, of course. Maybe I can rope in our arts department ;)

Well it's really convenient to bring them in because they have those long undersea tunnels the reptilian aliens built.

Company released a memo with a internal regulation about they finally allowing 1-day a week of homeoffice as a pilot. It's text is just it repeating over and over that you really have to still make the normal 8h-18h hours, and that your superior has to remind you that you have to really work when you're in homeoffice and how much screwed you're going to get if you don't work in the homeoffice. I think I'm better off coming to the office than dealing with all this distrust where they assume you're going to slack off by default. They forgot people slack in the office too.

-
@sockpuppet7 We can pretty much work from home whenever here, but it creates multiple problems. Yeah, I'm more likely to slack off, but it also puts me in the zone sometimes, and then all the obvious things get wrong and broken, but the thing kind of works faster than normal. The distraction of the office is actually really good for keeping my tunnel vision from taking over.

What doesn't make sense is that in the same breath I was told that I must immediately turn those lights back off before saving all the levels. Because.... :/
Something about that seems wrong to me. I'm going to partially ignore the instructions and see what blows up...
The ambient light level in the area depends on the number of lights nearby, and a light's effect on it isn't calculated until you turn it on.
That's my guess anyway.

Also, it's not lying - close Windows Explorer via task manager, delete Thumbs.db via shell, and reopen Explorer.
Or, since he fucking asked Explorer to delete the file, it could fucking just close the file before it tried to delete it.
I know, I know. That's crazy talk.

No, basically there can only be one "sun" in the level, and since this level is special because it's actually four levels smashed into one, there are two suns.
Funny enough, in the current lighting mode you can't turn static lights on or off at runtime, and I'm not sure how the lighting engine handles having two suns (I assume it just ignores one), so overall this pattern stinks of since building lighting is one of the automated things you're supposed to be able to do (and turning lights on and off is not an automatable thing). So in theory, I should be able to just open the level and build lighting and that's all there is to it.

Status: Was looking at some 3D design software because I wanted to do some designs of my own. And I wanted to start with easy ones.
Found a site which listed some - the first one I looked at was SketchUp which promised me a tutorial. Said tutorial consisted of:
- Download the software
- Download a plugin
- Download the complete files and put them into your 3D printer
- Oh, you can have a look at the complete model in our 3D software.
- Oh, you wanted to know how we created this model? Figure it out yourself!
Some "tutorial", my ass.
Thankfully, TinkerCAD seems much more userfriendly. At the moment I don't really need any advanced tools and this is offering me just the right amount of newbie-friendly usability.
And the tutorial actually IS a tutorial!

@dreikin I do think he's a bit too hard on the cuphead one, since I do think it's okay for there to be some hard games, but the whole Commentocracy series is gold.

Status: This week's episode preview tells us that next week in Dragonball Super, Kale will master Legendary Super Saiyan, and be able to use it while rational. And then will fuse with Caulifla. This means that either they have no intention of surprising us next week, or that will not be important to the events that play out. Either way, this show is still a lot of fun to watch.

Possibly waaaaaaaay overkill for your use, though.

I've TRIED to watch assorted Dragonballs. I literally cannot get over the fact that NOBODY FUCKING WALKS.
Ever. Not even a step. Either they're completely grounded and immobile, or fucking flying.

When you've got big balls, you don't need to walk.

@weng walking animation is expensive. You only need one frame for standing or jumping.
