Goodbye

I doubt this was your intention but now I don't think I'll ever be able to stop mentally pronouncing @Yamikuronue 's username as "Jamiroquai"
Her avatar picture wears the wrong kind of hat, though.

It's regular Jameson but they age it in casks that were used to make craft beers for awhile.
Wow. After beers aged into whisky casks, we get whisky aged into beer casks. The hipster circle is finally closed!
-
@remi Whisky has always taken a lot of its flavour from the casks it's aged in, whether that's the type of wood or the drink that was previously kept in the cask.
Before the ageing process, whisky is clear
-
@jaloopa I know. But while wine casks are routinely re-used for other alcohols, and some beer like to play the "fancy" card by being aged in reused casks, including whisky ones, it's the first time I hear about whisky using beer casks.

Hmm...that sounds interesting. A friend of mine turned me onto an ale made in bourbon barrels. It's difficult to find, though.

@yamikuronue and don't forget the destination platform that were splintering into, StoryBB which should provide some non secret context.

i think you have that misread by a lot.
i hated because in general he was pro-some-of -the-things-i-believe-in .... but in such incredibly stupid ways that i'd rather ignore his topics altogether than engage in them.I think most of the people who argued with him agreed with him on broad principles, but he wasn't capable of discussing details or brooking any disagreement and he really did espouse the extreme sort of inanity on a lot of subjects that fuels most of the links and images posted in the garage.

Yes, and unfortunately, one of those people has been visiting the forum lately...
HEY! At least I balance things out with a healthy dose of Molly pictures.
...
unless you don't mean me why would i assume that about myself anyways moving on
Nah, I was talking about someone else. Btw, looks like your patreon page got removed.
-
@remi Who cares. It's good and cheap. If that's hipster, I'm hipster.

Losing sleep arguing with someone who's more interested in trolling than having an actual conversation
Mute the Trolly Garbage category.
Give me a break. There is absolutely trolling on the forum outside the Garage; it's just not political. (Or it's "tech-political".)
-
The garage is much more enjoyable if you treat it like WWE rather than the like the coliseum.
My ring name should be enough of a clue
-
...After reading this thread, I decided to finally mute the Garage myself. It really does seem to change the tone of my Unread page...
-
@blakeyrat Lets face it, you live on the west coast, you were always at least halfway there.
-
@e4tmyl33t I'm considering muting everything but the garage.... I keep ending up in threads that I thought were garage but were actually non-inflammatory copies. Bastards.

Because adding a cute animal to the end of every post makes everything better?

@antiquarian Yes, yes it does.

@karla Judo Chops @darkmatter!
It's super effective!

@boomzilla don't be crazy, it's Whodough Tchawps
-
@karla if acronyms had to be pronounced in the same way each word is pronounced, then it would be scubbaa diving. And the millennials would be running around saying LOWL.
On second thought, those are funny, let's do it. Giffs for all!

ohai, @Rhywden. I see that you have borrowed @Karla's keyboard. But you won't see this, since you have both of us shadowbanned.
-
@darkmatter with gone, i've noticed a few members drifting left a bit more. I think that not having to constantly think with their far right brain to troll is making some members a lot more moderate with their posts.

Perhaps I misread your intentions, but it would be difficult to argue against the fact that he was more effective than Atwood at uniting the community.
i hated because in general he was pro-some-of -the-things-i-believe-in .... but in such incredibly stupid ways that i'd rather ignore his topics altogether than engage in them.
I tried not to hate him. Eventually, the hyperbolic strawmen got to me, as well as his positions being deeply rooted in defiance of reality. He is the poster boy for the distilled, high purity SJW.
-
I tried not to hate him.
I didn't literally hate the person; I could care less about him really. I just hated that he posted things.

@HardwareGeek seems to have ragequit the forums for good.

I doubt he ragequit. I prefer to believe that he's sharing his pendantry with people who appreciate it less than we did.

I put in a complaint about it any they ignored me. There's a thread about it. I'll probably just start another one to piss them off.

One of the good Polish breweries made a Baltic porter aged in barrels that used to hold Oloroso sherry. Added lots of taste, awesome beer.

Recently, the word "hipster" started meaning "good". Good beer is a hipster thing, good coffee is a hipster thing, iPhones are a hipster thing.
So yeah, I feel the same.

It's not only that. I found myself agreeing with fox a lot on principle, but the way he got there was so ridiculous I did still argue against him. I don't think it's about "thinking with far right brain to troll", it's about finally being able to have a proper discussion without standing on the same side as he.

i think you're behind the times, hipster meant good for a while and now means bad again
