I feel like they should have bought the domain they advertise, because wuphf.com redirects to supplementhound.com (and if you mistakenly go to wuph.com it's just directly a virus).

@pie_flavor They might have back when the show aired 7 years ago.
-
@boomzilla ideas disappointed when I saw the Simpsons had let whatbadgerseat.com lapse

You're clearing it wrong
-
So the fix is to remove undo
Uh, no
-
@izzion Whoa...I didn't recognize him at first:
-
Jeff Atwood:
I don’t see the value of allowing an undo here, personally. You have to click through two complete dialogs to “accidentally” flag something as spam. So the fix is to remove undo in this scenario.
In this scenario, removing "undo" for TL3 would mean that there are different behaviours for handling flagging of posts depending on trust level, right? Like, TL3 can flag but can't undo, higher levels can undo, mods/admins can flag/undo/hide/unhide/whatnot... a tad confusing from a UX and programming perspective, but perhaps I am misunderstanding.
Also, if I can flag (and it autohides)... does that mean I can flag everything and empty a forum?
-
@boomzilla He needs a fiddle to play while Discourse burns
-
@julianlam said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):

Yeah, but you wouldn't do that because you're trusted. An untrustworthy person wouldn't have upvoted some posts and read some other posts, so wouldn't have access to hide everything on the forum

@julianlam OK, but let's look at what he said:

Repeated undo/redo of this is also a griefing scenario.
FUCK YOU JEFF. Yeah, I've never had users go through a process that involved something like that only to realize that they'd made a mistake. Users don't make mistakes! They definitely don't blow through dialogs!
Yeah, doing all of that over and over could definitely be a problem. So fix that problem.
-
@julianlam
Though ISTR that the TL3 flag to hide spam only hides posts from new users (TL0)... my recollection is that established users' posts will not be hidden until a moderator+ handles the flag.

Two dialogs, @boomzilla. Not one but two. No one would blow through two complete dialogs!
-
@heterodox Oh. I only use partial dialogs. For performance reasons.
-
@boomzilla said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):

You need a dialog CDN.

OMG Someone should set up a sockbot to try it!

: Hey guys, how do you get so much work done, you're all amazing! :-D

@doctorjones
I feel like this could be a great new WTDWTF Mad Libs contest, to come up with "the real reason" that Discourse "gets so much work done" in each release cycle.

Ignoring user reported bugs? Banning people who report too many bugs?

Bikeshed changes are much
fastermore efficient than actually fixing bugs or improving performance
-
@boomzilla Previously co-founder of stack exchange? How do you suddenly become not a co-founder?

@magus
They took his nameplate off of the bikeshed and moved it to the doghouse.

I was under the impression it was step-limited when in play, it was the yellow one that was upside down....?

I've been told that, but obtaining insurance has proven... difficult, and I've similarly been told doctors get expensive really quick without insurance, so... stone and solid location.

Obama cared so much that he got me a $600 bill for not having insurance that would have cost me five times that in premiums alone...

@tsaukpaetra If there are stones in solid locations, then you really need to see a doctor.

Uh... So... Discourse is showing in error but the onebox of the post is showing as was intended. Am I seeing that right? ... Discoursistency!

I think it's a browser thing. Chrome 63.numbers on Linux shows:
-
@pjh I did a test. Firefox and Edge display it correctly. Chrome and Internet Explorer display it wrong.
So... IE is as good as Chrome?
-
-
@boomzilla Probably, yeah. FF and Edge display the exact same emoji. Chrome gives this: . IE shows this: .

@atazhaia ditto on android

Wait, really? I can understand potential confusion in shared-hosting situations, but flat out "it doesn't work, fuck off"?
