Someone gave her a jackhammer.
Things didn't end well.

So all this construction explains Accalia's absence. She took her home network apart to avoid having it damaged by dust and has been surviving on a craptop and LTE tethering all weekend and she didn't want to use the forums cause it would suck all the data out of her plan.

@izzion I stopped playing that after I managed to get it to the point where another move was entirely impossible; you can get a 131072-cell IIRC (because you can get given 4-cells) but a 262144-cell is entirely impossible. After that, there didn't seem like much of a challenge left in that game.

Long story short it keeps your basement dry by draining groundwater into the sewers (usually, sometimes it's just into a nearby ravine/valley) before in infiltrates the basement.

It seems this thing has no end to problems, ugh. Last time I checked, the damn thing itself was infected, so everything it tried scanning got infected (which is pretty horrifying if you think about it).
I'm just happy the botnet appeared dormant when I got there.

Finally watched Avatar seven years after its release and not having seen a single trailer, clip, or anything in the interim. I was wondering if I'd be adding it to the Highly Acclaimed Movies you Hate Thread; actually thought it was pretty damn good instead. Guess the $2.8 billion at the box office wasn't all from idiots, go figure.
I was not a big fan of the military being portrayed as the villain in the film rather than corporate greed, but I guess that's to be expected. (Wikipedia says the antagonist was a "private security force", but if that truly was meant to be the case, that line was not drawn such that even someone familiar with the difference could see it in the film, especially accounting for a post-modern era. There were direct assertions to the contrary.)

Yeah. The database software is apparently built for XP, but it seems mostly fine with Windows 8 Server.
I'm not entirely convinced I'll be able to convinve $OWNER to drop another $800 just for the niceness of not having to choose a better antivirus.

It's been a while since I last saw it, but I did interpret it as all corporate. There is historical precedent for stuff like that too - the VOC was incorporated (first company to issue freely trade-able stock), but had a lot of nation-like traits including a territory, an army, and its own flag.

@tsaukpaetra If it manages to work on 2012, I'd be quite confident in it doing the same on 2016.
The only 'hard' OS barriers recently have been XP->Vista or later and 2003/2003 R2 => 2008/2008 R2.
And to be frank, most of that was 32bit software that had been built as "anyCPU" despite hard 32bit dependencies.

Status: Why is the Help in Eclipse so shit? It describes everything but without saying anything useful at all. Every single time I end up looking at it, I learn nothing. I'm dismissive of MSDN often, but that at least has reasonably useful info hidden in there; Eclipse's help has absolutely fuck all of value.

exiftoolon a bunch of vacation photos to correct the camera's date/time, and then discovered that my digital camera doesn't embed any rotation data in the photos (I thought it did... I must be confusing it with the one I had before).I used IrfanView to losslessly rotate them, but without the embedded rotation data I had to do it by hand. :/

I'm programming in C, and I regularly go "ugh, I'm just reimplementing objects here... this would be easier if I had classes".
But then I remember that C++ has like 45 edge cases for each basic feature, and I think I'd rather stay with C.

Status: Just rebuilt a kernel-mode driver. But something went awry in my script and I just signed everything in
C:\Windows\System32with our company's code-signing certificate.
Nothing has gone wrong yet, but I imagine things will turn sour when I reboot.
