...unless the files were too big to attach to our emails (or, worse, if they attached okay on the sender's end but the resulting email was then too large for the recipient's inbox). Then it sucked...
I had this problem (for starters) last year. We'd sent someone a big data set and now we had to send them one extra month's data. Rather than setting up a special download for them I thought I'd just email them the file.
It took me about 10 emails and three different compression formats to find something that wasn't blocked on our end or theirs by some combination of file size, extension, extension inside zip, etc. And of course half of those attempts didn't give me any error message, just vanished into the ether and I had to check with our mail admins to see what happened.

@chozang I suspect originally there was a door in that alcove. There is a good example of "technical legacy" that normal people will get! :D

Well, I've never claimed to be normal. It just looks like a door with the stopper at the top, rather than the bottom. What am I missing?
-
@chozang If the stopper is mounted on the door it doesn't matter if the stopper is mounted top of bottom. It is usually mounted on the skirt board in most UK houses. The skirt board is between the floor and the wall mainly decorative.
If there was a door in that alcove previously why the stopper was on that door. However it is still dumb because they could have mounted a stopper halfway along the door or the skirting to top the door from getting that far.
-
@chozang Did you watch the GIF to the end, where the stopper
?spoiler
doesn't hit anything

In the U.S., it's usually mounted on the door, just at the bottom, so it doesn't poke you in the eye.

@RaceProUK Best hair in the world mate. You have to work on that to give it that volume.

True, but standard door height is 6'8", so there's not much chance of getting poked in the eye unless you're quite tall.

@RaceProUK I love sassy Wendy's. I have been trying to find a fanfic of her for fanfic mondays, but I haven't seen one yet.

Not sure if it belongs in the NSFW thread

@RaceProUK I find it pretty hard to believe that beef patties which were frozen properly (flash frozen), kept frozen for a not-excessive length of time, then defrosted properly and used promptly will be significantly different in taste or texture than the same beef patties if they were instead refrigerated and used promptly.
-
@anotherusername
Well, they're specifically contrasting to McDonald's (without actually calling them out, cuz advertising law), who cooks meat directly from the freezer to the holding cabinet in 40 seconds flat (in the case of the cheeseburger meat - the Quarter Pounder patties take about 2 minutes to cook).
-
@izzion frozen patties can defrost directly on the grill, as long as the middle of the patty cooks to the desired doneness before the outside starts to burn. McDonald's regular patties are so pathetically thin that it'd be a complete waste of time defrosting them, and the QP patties aren't really that much thicker.

@RaceProUK Whoever is running the wendy's twitter account knows what they are doing.

@Yamikuronue There are some lets say NSFW artwork of Wendy on Twitter.

That's not surprising. Twitter is part of the internet, after all...

@wharrgarbl Welcome to the internet! Here, have some cool signs for your webpage:

@Yamikuronue I found that looking for something else. Now I find someone registered the domain ihasabucket.com just to host that picture

@wharrgarbl yeah, it was real big in like, 1995. Hence my joke above

@Yamikuronue and did they give him his bucket back?

@wharrgarbl Sadly, no. He died of lack-of-bukkit two years later, after a long and arduous battle. Never forget.

I migrated to spigot a while ago, not sure if it's still popular though...

@Tsaukpaetra My solution would be to buy faster everything.
I am now advocating for a V8 mustang when going for software dev.
