It's worse than the ATMs in the drive through having braille on them.

AMD has released photos of their new graphics card, but the funny is this reply to this question:
That is one longass board. Why are the power connectors under the cover?
Young GPUs without burqa are haram

@xaade all the signs at our uni have braille on them.

To be fair, I think octothorpe is an escape symbol that indicates start of the numeric sequence.
Symbols used for digits overlap with the symbols used for letters, so # needs to be used to distinguish them. Though I do wonder how does one denote the end of the numeric sequence.Disclaimer: I don't know shit about Braille and it's just an educated guess looking at the encoding.

I was waiting for someone to but
Anyway, the braille says "g#40", and not "G#40" so it is still inconsistent.

It's mainly the customer's fault for failing to communicate what she wanted. I put part of it on the groomer, though, because you really ask for clarification before you go ahead and do something like that.

That is correct.
The capital symbol is also similar, except it applies only to the next character.
⠛
=g
,⠠⠛
=G
. For an all-caps sequence, you're supposed to use the equivalent of caps-lock: 2 capital characters.⠠⠛⠛⠛
=Ggg
,⠠⠠⠛⠛⠛
=GGG
. (That actually just capitalizes the immediately-following sequence of alphabetical characters. For real caps lock, you use a triple capital symbol,⠠⠠⠠
, and to turn it off again you use one capital mark followed by the same symbol used for apostrophe,⠠⠄
.)Symbols used for digits overlap with the symbols used for letters, so # needs to be used to distinguish them. Though I do wonder how does one denote the end of the numeric sequence.
Punctuation or space, I'd assume. Although any character non-A-J might, as it'd be an invalid digit.

I was originally going to point that out, but instead I went with the joke about the fact that the dots aren't raised (as you can see from the angle of the photo) which means that a blind person couldn't read it. (And yeah, that was originally the whole point of the picture.)

I was reading through the thread waiting for someone to notice.
-
I can imagine a comic where someone is trying to translate unraised braille by telling the blind person where the dots are, instead of just reading the text.
-
@xaade said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

Wasn't it that's the joke of the picture?
I assumed everyone recognised that as the reason it was posted here, and proceeded to pick nits in the usual TDWTF fashion.
-
For bonus points, see if you can figure out which WTDWTF poster this person (the customer, not the employee) most sounds like.
