Just watched Hawkeye with my wife. We both enjoyed it; it had a lot of heart and was one of the better MCU TV shows so far.
A few thoughts:
Our introduction to (grown-up) Kate involves her using her bow to accidentally cause some very expensive property damage to a local monument. In the final episode, she uses her bow to intentionally cause some very expensive property damage to a nationally-renowned landmark. Very nice call-back there.
I liked the relatively realistic portrayal of Kate in the early fight scenes. She may be a champion-level martial artist, but in a real fight, against multiple people bigger than her, she's badly outmatched and needs to use wits and weapons to even the odds.
In the end, it turns out Jack is innocent, all the stuff that made it look like he's evil was a bunch of red herrings, and he's just a good-hearted idiot who's on the good guys' side. ...except, if that's the case, why was he at a secret black market auction for bad guys in the first place?
How is it that a suit built for a big guy like Clint Barton fits the much more petite Kate Bishop so well?
All of the Yelena/Kate scenes were pure gold. We need those two to actually team up at some future point.
Why did no one ever say "hey, Maya has a metal leg. Acid arrow!"
Love the Galaxy Quest vibe with the last episode!
Does anyone really believe that Kingpin is dead now?
In the mid-credits musical number, one of the actors is a black man in a lab coat. For whatever reason, I looked at him and immediately thought "it's the 'here's a bright idea' scientist from HISHE!"
