Clearly, it's only ever a fair test to do it on Linux.
Besides not being funny and not conveying a clear message, was there a purpose for posting this picture?

Anyway even though a lot of time and money was involved they were not really able to get all the data out of those "databases" in a usable format
@Anketam said:
I'm one of those lucky guys that has the honor to use Lotus Notes!
You couldn't open those databases in your own Notes client? File ->Export 'CSV'? Use an agent to export the data to XML? Expose the Domino data through a Web service? Use a DCR to CRUD the data with SQL, Oracle, DB2, or any ODBC? Configure the Notes SQL driver to make calls directly from your external apps?

I just laugh at this marketing moron in this thread
Laugh all you like. I'm not in marketing. I'm a tech. I have a very good understanding of what is possible with Lotus Notes and Domino because I've done it.

How long your notes has been running that it accumulated over 2 hour of CPU time? I have Outlook running for 2 weeks, and so far its CPU time is only 16 minutes.

Cut him some slack - at least he clicked the reply-to button on a post that did contain the text he was quoting - he's a tech doncha know? He also apparently works for Lotus.@MatNewman said:

Is this thread some kind of SpectateSwamp copycat attack?

Not until the number of threads it occupies is less than (but not equal if the answer is '1') the number of years it's been going on.

No one's ever had notes running for 2 weeks. Most users never get past 3 hours without having to kill the process.
-
I've had Notes running for up to 4 days without having to kill it.
-
I'm sure it'll finish full text indexing soon in that case.

You know it'd go quicker if you merged all your files into one large NotesDB then added "tt" to the control files and double-clicked at prompt#2?

SSDS stuff
Probably. I bet SSDS handles bullet points better than Notes though...http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/0/4178D0D9F7D2988485257964001646D7?OpenDocument&ca=drs-fo

As everyone can see, Lotus Notes is using lots of memory, more than Outlook or Gmail. And Linux is very lightweight.
Man, you were so close to fooling me with that fake picture! Your only mistake is that the processes for the RussianBotnetClient.exe do not consume the same ammount of memory and that is flat out impossible. Better luck next time! The font gave it away for me, though for a minute I was going to ask how to set that font in Windows Settings.
Anyway now that I'd necro'd this thread, I'd love to see more Notes bashing.
