Google doesn't just search it secretly picks your data pocket.
Spectate doesn't. Having the open source code ensures transparency. Google is murkySpectate is EXACT search; Google is haphazard.
The search string for the above screen was:
" PHYLLIS / BEV / SHELLEY / BARB / JEFF / JERRY "
having search find imbedded spaces is Key to thorough Search YupOn a google search it indicates millions of matches... AND
shows those elements that didn't have a match with a line through them.. Piss Poor if you ask me.

I've looked at the code for SSDS. It's pretty damned murky. Granted, Google is completely opaque.

Spectate is Your Search... when you have the code... You'll find all the features that google doesn't have.
Google is alphabets search and your enemy that is a fact.
They slip their selected results / advertisers in and remove anything they don't like or rubs them the wrong way. BooThe real key to Spectate... Is how it allows and encourages spaces in file names...
Reading without spaces isn't all that easy.
To be able to find words with spaces front and back requires a little gymnastics.
if two are in a row the last space in the first keyword must be reused...
That's why it is the greatest search... This feature alone. You can never be sure that the search works... unless you see the matches... Like the pic above...
Great for the budding programmers young and old.
Learn from the best...

True maybe I need to do a couple demos of the main features.
Like initial start up
a quick catalog of all jpg or mpg
Then select and display based on those long filenames.
-
Spectate is just getting good ... Google isn't getting any better.
The only thing they could do is add a spectate search option to their home page.
For those that want the real data.

Paid training? For a search tool?

This TOOL does waaay more than any other.
The online training is free.
Spectate searches and fires up the display and play
Googling shows you possible results.. One big step away from Spectating YUP

Spectating VS Googling It's not even close

True; even I don't remember most of the features.
I should do better by My Swampies.
Have 'em to email me back the source with their changes highlighted.
I'd do a quick build and send it back...
I'll look at activating more display details when running debug modeFor me I put in a quick change and jam it.. Often failing so don't worry send me your changes.
My latest change was the testing of 6 names with spaces front and back...
It didn't pick up 2 of the 10 because there wasn't a space at the end of the search info.
So right at the read line... I added a space at the end... EASYOver the years I had dozens of ideas for great new features...
If each and every swampie dove into this pile... The world would change.I should try uploading the VB app to archive.org... Maybe swampies can start doing builds world wide

Googling just doesn't cut it.. Spectating is the thing
@Zerosquare said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:Paid training? For a search tool?
...okay.
It is FREE too.
But not for Google they will have to pay a fee.. or you know what... I'll do another DANCE.
The training will be good for Me.. It's hard to remember all the Great features. With filenames ... they need SPACES bad.
Along with pushing filenames as keys... There is immediately a need to
rename / copy those files with the directory names included with spaces between
the spectate CP copy picture option needs a few tweets.
I'd have one that keeps the details from the search line and put that in front of the original name.
When doing the family album... We put the details in the line then the 2nd had the path to the pic.
I'm going to use that file to change the names to include the pertinent info.ALSO
the VL video length option that provides the length in the search string...
I can take that file and CP for all those with the length in their name...
When doing random play of video... If you have to find the length... things get slow very slow
If it is in the filename... I'll know what the range is for the random start point... Blazingly fast..A little training is needed and I'll do video clips ad nauseam

one more brag about curling... ALL others swept the rocks to keep 'em on line.
I swept them so they would curl MORE and they did...
All the Holed stone stuff is TRUE
My stones are far superior to anything mentioned...More news on the holed rock front...
A friend told me about a mountain top with a hole right through.. He could see blue sky
and it was perfectly round..
In talking about the holed mountain.. another guy said there is one near Squamish B.C. canada
at table top mountain...
When the snow goes ... Me and my Swampies will get you some videos of this Sacred feature.Who knows: the spot where it is perfect to see through... might have some artifacts???

Spectating allows you to search for bad data... And fix it.
Be it a bad filename or textual info .. Google can't touch Spectate nope never
Those 6 separate keys ensure a perfect match.. Or a problem....
Finding and fixing.. the Most Powerful search feature..The Copy Picture feature CP makes it easy and simple to find and correct bad long filenames..
EG.
I have 17000 songs from a friend... Half are French and I'm not billingual.
I quickly do the GF (Get Files) cataloging feature.. All 17000+ are listed..
By looking at the file... I can insert (French) and (English) on each description line..
THEN run the CP (Copy Picture) to have the output file name ... the same as the 1st line / description.Presto.
I just use (french) or (english) as one of the 6 search keys and no more billingual required. Wow
Is this Search the GREATEST.. I think so.

Is Spectating more energy efficient than Googling?
I would place my bets on Spectating... It's probably a fraction of the electron gobbling monster Google uses..
Surely one of the Swampies has the knowledge to explain..
Go get 'em Swampies...

I can tell you that I often enjoy drinking beer while spectating, and maybe having some snacks. Energy efficient might not be the right term but it's fun.
Oooo...I still have a boxing match on the DVR from last weekend to spectate.

Bragging I'm bragging Spectating up like I should have earlier.. Cuz it's the best
long filenames makes it exceptional.Having a built in file renaming / coping function makes curating with the FN FuN
We like fun.ALSO
I had hand catalogued all my family album back in 2000 and with a couple changes
to the CP copy picture function... I could put that detail in front of the original name and
copy that to the destination drive. WOW
I was about to hand rename those...In working on the Budg feature... I am taking a different tactic..
Trying to get the video to play live in mini segments can be problematic when the system is busy.
So
Similar to the catalogue function for GOLF
I'll create THOUSANDS of start / pause / continue lines that play for a 1/30 second then
the next line set will start 1/1000 or so ahead of the first..
That will solve a busy computer problem.
Sometimes putting stuff off works best.
The old code is left... Maybe useful later.
When you brag this much it has to be good.
-
Where Are the Grepplers, The Hadoopers.. Googlers have been vanquished.
Just tested out the copy / rename feature that put the photo details into the name...
If I hadn't bragged and bragged; that feature would not be here Today.

The next BIG Brag will have to come after the catalog feature to play the same segment over and over as it creeps along at 1/1000 of a second. Super slow motion of the Sky Critters will be something. Yup

randomly sample and find 'emWhen the details are in the FileName others can see.. and no memory required. Nope.

I know that filenames don't like " ? : and maybe a tab
Experimenting with FileNames that have links for searching "in the filenames" My Swampies are experimenting too.
I hope.
Wow I finally did the CP function to rename all my original 5000+ family album pics.. From early 2000'sSo easy to do and to watch them all flash by as they were going to the usb stick.
THEN
Opening the folder with large icons and the long FN... it was and is Beautiful.
Anybody that doesn't like long filenames is a poor sob. YupWill we ever see Bots from other Search engine co's venture here? I don't think so.
