@dkf I'm used to the smell from all the paper mills in the region, as they have the same sulphuric kind of smell. The taste is just very salty fish.

@Atazhaia Fat rendering factories aren't much better, especially when a temperature inversion keeps all the scents in...

The Nope you vomit it thread is .
-
@dkf Oh, the other place I've lived in had one of those. That town had a persistent smell of margarine to it.
-
@Atazhaia it depends on which fats are being rendered. Ones from sheep are... not great.

Betteridge is having a field day today:
Can generative AI solve computer science's greatest unsolved problem?
No.
When computer scientists hang out at cocktail parties, they're apt to chat, among other things, about the single most important unsolved problem in computer science: the question, Does P = NP?
Now, that effort has enlisted the help of generative AI.

@topspin It can certainly answer the question. The answer might even be plausible. There's even a chance it's right. The question has two possible answers, so the chance is about 50:50. :coin_flip.apng:

Sure, I can answer it too. But I can't solve it, i.e. provide a mathematical proof that isn't just rambling nonsense regurgitated from pop-sci articles.

The very need for such thing proves beyond reasonable doubt that the tests can't, in fact, Tell Computers and Humans Apart any more, and should stop being used.

For a very long time now captchas are being used to have you do free work to train OCR and then later self-driving cars. They're not giving up on free work just because you think whatever's in the name is ineffective.

Those are used by people who don't have access to Google et al.'s advanced stuff and simply use what they had 20 years ago, when it was still barely secure.

They are available in the north of Sweden, so if you feel like going for a skiing trip or a romantic trip to the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi you could try one.
I'd expect the smell to be the worst part, as far as the taste it's probably no worse than anchovies.

That's not me eating the pizza because fish, but yeah I often do, because if I don't I eat a pizza in about 2-4 minutes and then I have to spend half an hour just sitting around watching people slowly eat stuff.

I use knife and fork because I over-top my pizzas and it becomes a mess otherwise.
Also, I buy bare bases with tomato sauce and add my own toppings.
-
@PleegWat said in I, ChatGPT:

This, plus two subcategories of mess.
I don't really like greasy fingers, and I almost invariably eat while doing stuff on the computer. Therefore, if my fingers are greasy (or otherwise contaminated with food), my keyboard and mouse also get covered with food residue.
I have a beard and moustache. If I try to shove a slice of pizza far enough into my mouth to take a bite, my beard and moustache get full of tomato sauce, cheese and possibly other fragments.

@dkf Anything beyond bare with tomato sauce tends to already have cheese on it, and I'm allergic to bovine cheese. So I use mozzarella di boffolo instead.
-

, except it's bufala. Around here, though, it's very hard to find and expensive; it seems kind of a waste to use it for pizza.

I considered adding a (sp?) to that. Lactose intolerance limits my options on these things, though vegetable cheese is another alternative. I've left it out entirely once, but that didn't really work for me.
-
@PleegWat said in I, ChatGPT:

Yeah. Being gluten intolerant, I understand. It sucks.
vegetable cheese is another alternative.
That goes in the Nope, you eat it thread. I got that once, accidentally, because it was also gluten free, when I was trying out whatever brands of gluten free stuff I could find, looking for the least awful. I didn't notice it was also dairy free. It was terrible. The label proudly proclaimed they'd spent years "perfecting" their mozzarella . If they thought that was perfect, they've clearly never been on the same planet as real mozzarella.
-
@HardwareGeek The vegetable cheese I tend to use imitates Dutch (hard) cheeses, I've not encountered such a substitute for mozzarella. Tends to be somewhat tasteless. I think I've seen cheddar substitute as well, but I haven't actually tried that one.
EDIT: A check on my usual supermarket's website indicates they offer a lactose-free mozzarella (made from lactose-free bovine milk) but not a vegan version.

That would be gluten free pizza crust.

I've never felt need to try cauliflower base.

Out of curiosity, I have. Actually not bad.
-
@dcon Cauliflower base is actually the best of the gluten free pizza crust alternatives. By quite a large margin. Everything else I've tried made from rice flour, corn flour and/or other gluten free grains turns out to be a very poor imitation of normal, wheat-based crust, despite being made from grain. Cauliflower base, made from cauliflower powder and potato starch, despite having no grain, makes a reasonable imitation of a thin, crispy crust.

Even when you don’t eat it with knife and fork, you still need to cut slices.
