Stereogram

@Zecc Can see it without phasing. Needs more JPEG for obfuscation.
-
@Tsaukpaetra
But you're supposed to be able to see it...
Without phasing. Got it.

I nominate this thread for Official Stereogram Thread position.
Because I love stereograms and want more of them here.

Seeing them easily takes training. Seeing one for the first time may be pretty hard.
-
@dkf Same. All I see in the one above is letters with blurring around them.
-
@Gurth I can see a pattern forming a shape of some sort, but not able to discern what exactly.
-

I've spent nearly 30 years being unable to see them and I have tried. I understand the principle, but that doesn't change a damn thing.
-
I don't know how hard you tried to see it, but:
- Enlarge the image and get closer to it, so it takes most of your field of view.
- Don't focus on any detail in the picture, try to look at 'all of it' at once.
- Try looking through or 'behind' the picture.
- Try loosing focus and making the picture blurry.
- Move your head closer and further from the image at different speed.
For first time trying points 3-5 in different configurations can take some time, minutes.
Also, some pictures are easier to see than others, for first try it's better to choose a very easy one.
Also also, it's a lot easier with printed images than with ones on a screen.
-
@dkf I think I've mentioned this before: it took many many years before I was able to see cross-eye stereograms, even after many attempts. Then one day without much effort it just clicked.
In any case, it's no big deal if you just can't see them. Much like learning to ride a monocycle, you don't lose much.

I haven't tried that particular approach.
I said it about playing musical instruments. More than a couple girls I've dated said I first caught their eye when they heard me improvising.
-
I find cross-eye ones really easy, but the other kind quite hard to do, unless there's some reflective surface or something behind it that I can focus on. Magic Eye posters and books made it pretty easy by being on glossy paper, but it's difficult with a matte computer screen

Think it's more like doing anything socially acceptable with a passably decent level of skill.
I seem to have completely lost it. Used to be able to name a note. Not anything like the perfect hearing, mind you, but with a bit of practice and sweat and I could get melodies right.
These days, I wager, with me trying to play an instrument the only way panties could drop is to prevent me from "improvamizing" any further

So what does anyone (who claims to see something other than the words) see in the OP?

The emperor's glorious new wardrobe, of course.

Gee, still trying to see it? Come on, get a life!

Well it can't be solved with this here Magic Eye solver because there's only one layer. You get this instead:
Doing "invert colors", some blurring and "Multiply blend layer" on top of the original with Paint.Net does reveal the following:
There you go. Have A Nice Day.

In this case it's not really showing anything that you don't see just by looking at the image, but highlighting a certain set of words

Here's a new one to discuss:

Ah, yes, I see 's post emphasizing them. Wouldn't have noticed that just from looking (and not doing an explicit word search type examination).

I've never seen a GIF stereogram before, but this is cool:

@abarker that one takes the shit.

If that isn't a typo, I must be missing something. I'm not sure what licking has to do with that image.

I think you'd have bigger issues on your mind than licking if you put your manhood in that.

I find the bottom-right corner up to the top right edge the easiest zone to focus. Everything else is pretty much taken up by the figure in the image and thus it's harder to focus there.
-
@JBert I got it just now by moving my face right up to my monitor, then backing off slowly after the pattern "clicked"

I like these ... though I've come to prefer taking two actual side by side images.
I did the one in the OP but I was looking for shapes, not words, so I didn't get what it was trying to show until I saw the image posted later.

Wrong target group, but I find cute nerds attractive (as long as they don't look like they're so deep into nerd-world they don't know about basic hygiene). Unfortunately, it's rarely reciprocated.
(I seem to remember this American Pie scene where Nadia complains something along the lines that she just wants a cute nerd for herself (Jim), but can't find it)

Unfortunately, cute nerd girls are beset on all sides by perverts and incels. They're almost as hard to get as a natural 10.
