@loopback0 I'm in this picture and .

@loopback0 Rookie numbers.

@loopback0
Does that counts across all browser windows and different browsers?
-
@loopback0 said in Things that remind you of WDTWTF members:
I was in a meeting where the presenter spent about two minutes looking for a tab and then settled for opening a new one from a bookmark. I spent every second of it wishing he would die horribly but was also kind of curious where he got a discount for Apple products.

I feel so sub-par... One browser and 13 tabs.
-
@loopback0 I have more than double that many tabs just in this window, and more than double than number of windows (although most don't have so many tabs).
-
@HardwareGeek the first step is admitting you have a problem...

And the 2nd step is to open yet another tab to google that problem.

But don't close the tab when done. You may need it for reference later

Thank you - I did neglect to mention that...

Exactly!

't's OK, number of tabs is stored on an
unsigned char
so you can be trusted if you have 256-296 tabs open.
-
@remi An unsigned short int can contain 65536 values
-
@PleegWat
Thanks for pointing this outBug fixedI have no idea what you mean

Obligatory ry follow-up: But on my platform,
CHAR_BIT
is 32.
-
@cvi
well then you can never have more than 40 tabs open, and therefore you can be trusted. Good for you!No, that's wrong, that's what I get for posting without thinking (inb4: there is another way??). Whatever.

-
@PleegWat so can a signed short int.
-
@PleegWat said in Things that remind you of WDTWTF members:
I was actually assuming it was an OS thing.
Not on the OSes that I use (i.e. /), so it was a pure mistake on my part when I typed it.
I should have known because I had one piece of code where I extensively used a lot of
unsigned short int
because I wanted it to be 16 bits (for some sort of cheap data compression scheme -- don't ask, and yes I know the programming confessions thread is ).

What's wrong with
uint16_t
? Or were you using a compiler?
-
@Zerosquare hey, I said that this wasn't the programming confessions thread, so no
kinkshaming, OK?

It'll tell you if you have "confirm before closing multiple tabs" set and try and close the window(s).
Or if you select all tabs the "Close Tabs" prompt turns into "Close X Tabs"
-

Yes, but I'd have to do that for each window, and add the number of tabs myself. If I attempt to exit Firefox entirely, it just says
-
@HardwareGeek said in Things that remind you of WDTWTF members:

On each window, which I guess is a problem if you're also a window hoarding weirdo
edit: nevermind, I misread the message as "98 tabs". You're definitely a window hoarding weirdo.

This whole tabs talk made me remember something about Internet Explorer for early Lumias. I wonder if anybody else here remembers it.

What are the odds that two of the seven people who actually had a Lumia are on here?

I don't want to know which WTDWTF member this reminds you of.

Does it have to be a specific member?
-
@Tsaukpaetra it has to be at least one.
-
No. But if that reminds you of WTDWTF members in general, either you've got a very peculiar perception of us, or you know something I don't (and definitely don't want to know, thank you very much).
-
@Zerosquare said in Things that remind you of WDTWTF members:
you know
-
@Tsaukpaetra thankfully that clarifies nothing about the rest of your earlier post
-

I mean, the thread rules don't prohibit self-referent posting... so you know which one this reminds him of, you just don't want to admit you know...
