@da-Doctah Nerfherder?!
-
@Gribnit Aren't you a little short for a storm trooper?
-
@da-Doctah "No." this is believed in good faith to be fair use of registered Disney dialogue under international and other applicable copyright law

And by short I don't mean stature. Nor money.

Fortunately, they're about as fast and dangerous as snails.
Better do not misunderestimate the dangers of snails.
They can be really bad, e.g.

Big bags of low effort frozen food shouldn't be called party packs. They should be called alone packs.

Schistosomiasis - Wikipedia
That's a small child, vs a snail. Common mistake.

It had a really good run, but it's slowly falling out of parlance. Not that it will ever entirely go away, but where it is extraneous, or indeed where it leads to further verbosity, it's rapidly becoming optional.

Pre-made "dinners for two" only have enough for one person, but it doesn't sound as sad.

Saw this post on FB from a random martial arts guy I don't know but it kinda struck a chord...
Most of everything is bullshit derived from the desire for ritualistic audience participation in performance art. But without the effort of learning anything artistic. A large part of the rest is physics. And it ends in cold uncaring universe decay. Which is also beautiful if you are a follower of penrose rather than your latest voicepiece funtime guru. We train mondays and thursdays at 7.

@boomzilla truth in advertisement. I like the guy.

Watch out. Those tilers don't fuck around.

Now I understand why many of the people here have a weight in metric kilograms beyond my weight in imperial pounds...

On the other hand, you're an insect, so that's not hard for you.

Hypercavitate allthethings!

The real value of "malignity", per the apparatus described as belonging to Death in Discworld, the probability of toast landing butter-side-down, for this world is estimated as 81%. This correlates to the constant factor of Sturgeon's Law.

Trying to find a substitute for the "old" formula of Kaopectate, the one with kaolin (clay) in it to absorb excess oil. The current formula is nothing more or less than Pepto-Bismol without the pink coloring. When I checked "kaolin" on Wiki there was a link to another similar mineral:
*Dickite (Al2Si2O5(OH)4) is a phyllosilicate clay mineral named after the metallurgical chemist Allan Brugh Dick, who first described it. It is chemically composed of 20.90% aluminium, 21.76% silicon, 1.56% hydrogen and 55.78% oxygen. It has the same composition as kaolinite, nacrite, and halloysite, but with a different crystal structure (polymorph). Dickite sometimes contains impurities such as titanium, iron, magnesium, calcium, sodium and potassium.[3]
Dickite occurs with other clays and requires x-ray diffraction for its positive identification. Dickite is an important alteration indicator[clarification needed] in hydrothermal systems as well as occurring in soils and shales.
Dickite's type location is in Pant-y-Gaseg, Amlwch, Isle of Anglesey, Wales, United Kingdom, where it was first described in 1888.[3] Dickite appears in locations with similar qualities and is found in China, Jamaica, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, Italy, Belgium and Canada.[12]*

We're Not Gonna Take It
seems at first like a universal protest song, but please note carveouts for abstinence programs and conversion therapy.

Ah, nice and clean. ish.
I bet I could throw this right out through the wall

I bet you couldn't. No way at all
-
@Applied-Mediocrity Does passing through a window or door count as going through a wall?
-
@Zecc Depends on the game engine.
-
@Applied-Mediocrity let’s say Unity, because they’re doing their level best to push game devs out the door/wall (dwall?) because their CEO (who is the ex EA CEO) is all about the “if you’re not monetising your player mid gane you’re an idiot” now that Unity just merged with a company that made malware installers.
-
@Arantor All else being equal what that asshole said should not matter one bit. If you're in gamedev and hurt feefees presents a problem, you're not going to make it very far.
The malware business is a concerning development, yes. Some time ago I started blocking all outgoing comms of games and programs that shouldn't need any just like I did way back when on the high seas. I don't play MP, so it's a viable option for me, but I can see how it can be a problem.
-
@Applied-Mediocrity it’s not just that though, there’s a whole litany of acquisitions that Unity has made lately that don’t really bode well for the people actually using it. Including the team inside Unity whose job it was to make games and see where the pain points were. So in that respect it’s probably a good thing they, and hundreds of others, were all laid off.
-
@Arantor Perhaps after the whole Twatter thing crashes and burns we can goad Elon into acquiring Unity
-
@Applied-Mediocrity he can only improve it.
-
@Arantor For any x, if x + Elon > x, x ==

@HardwareGeek said in Random Thought of the Day:

That's consistent with Unity.
-
@dkf and that was basically my point ;)
-
This except unironically.
-
@topspin in my case the reason isn't so much that I don't have friends, but more that the sort of people that play the games online that I might want to play online are the sort of people I also wouldn't be friends with.

That’s before we talk about gooseberries. Or “cape gooseberries” also known as goldenberries (which sort of fits the pattern?)
Dingleberries?
Edit:: I might want to pay attention to post date. Or not.

@Tsaukpaetra indeed.

I can never remember. Is it "Romper Stomper Bomper Boo" or "Romper Bomper Stomper Boo"?

Quick! Name a well-known actor who isn't in the MCU.
-
@da-Doctah Mel Brooks.
-
@da-Doctah Ernest Borgnine
-
@da-Doctah James Earl Jones. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Sylvester Stallone. Sean Connery. George Lazenby. Roger Moore. Timothy Dalton. Pierce Brosnan. Daniel Craig.
-
@Arantor Bond thread is
-
@topspin but it fits the criteria ;)

Sorry. Stallone played Stakar Ogord (one of the competing Ravagers) in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2".

Tom Hanks
-
@da-Doctah that’ll teach me for giving zero fucks about the MCU.
-
@Arantor In your defense, you probably wouldn't remember him even if you did. I know I don't. Must have been a really small part.
-
It's not too late to mention Bill Cosby, is it?

Both Bond and Vader are part of the MCU.
