@boomzilla Pfft. Driving 120 on a highway over here is perfectly acceptable.

I’ve heard tales of 130 limits further north, but the highest you’ll find around here is a measly 110.
once a German guy tried speaking to me in miles solely for being an Anglospherian, which was kinda insulting

Most of has speed limits, and the condition of the roads is such that you wouldn't want to go very fast anyway; far too many awkward bends and bumps in the road for much over 40 even outside of urban areas. The bits that are racing circuits sometimes are rather better though.

Yeah, I've been there. But they do have those signs.
And I learned to drive on roads like most of IoM, so they don't strike me as particularly hard to drive. But probably not a terribly good idea to go faster than 70, but the speed is technically not limited.

It depends where you are on the island. The Mountain Circuit is pretty good, but the southwest has many roads that are almost impossible to get up to 40 on (and even harder to sustain it) as they're narrow and very twisty. You could go pretty fast up in the north of the island too, except the road surface quality isn't too great so…
It's like three different islands in one: the south is mostly farmland with little swales, the centre is the (not particularly high) mountains and fells, and the north is wide open spaces and fairly-low moraine ridges. (The very southwest is sort of part of the centre in terms of that description.)
-
@dkf
reminds me of the highways on Sicily or Sardinia. They are almost always limited to 90kmh and generally you don't want to go much faster.
-

Reminds me of some roads in Ireland with an 80kph speed limit posted. "Ah yes, a challenge." Not that the roads where in bad condition, just extremely narrow to go that speed. Which didn't stop the natives.
-
@topspin I can tell you that on the road to The Sound, going much above 30 mph/50 kph is intensely challenging. It's narrow, twisty, not usually well surfaced, and has just enough traffic (including regular buses) that things can get tricky. The little roads off to the side are much worse.
The Sound is a lovely place. Great for watching seals and lunch.

@izzion It's maybe ok to watch it before you eat it, but one would hope it's rather boring. If not, you should probably cook it longer.

At a sushi bar, I once saw a person eat a live (wiggling - but not for long) lobster. That's pushing even my limits.
-
Yeah, I have eaten plenty of blue steaks, but I pretty much draw the line at still wiggling.
-
@Dragoon I remember hearing a joke, many years ago (so y'all may have heard already, too), about a bunch of football players who went out for dinner at a steak restaurant. They are all trying to outdo each other trying to order their steaks cooked more rare than the last guy. One guy wanted his blood rare. The next guy wanted his raw. Finally, the last guy said, "Just walk the cow past the table, and I'll tear off the chunk I want."
-
@izzion I've once read about a restaurant where you can have sex with the animal that later ends up on your plate.
-
- I hope that was a work of fiction.

@boomzilla Two officers injured? That must have been some pretty violent twerking.
-
@Zecc Explaining the humor content of a joke? That must be a great way to indicate that you get the joke.

@Gribnit I did not explain the joke.
What I did was something I won't explain because I'm not falling for that.

I am astonished how they were still able to twerk on police cars despite their massive overweight of several hundred weights.

@HardwareGeek I love how the officer keeps mentioning "you really need to go to church today".

Police said [the man opening the door] was bragging about his actions, stating he was going to be famous. [The Florida man] has been charged with aiding prisoner escape and resisting arrest without violence.

The two men admitted to pretending to be affiliated with Roc Nation and Wu-Tang, using the lie to rent luxury limousines, pay for hotels, caterers, and production studios. The scheme was foiled after Barnes-Burpo attempted to book 10 rooms and apply a $2,500 credit to a king suite for an artist and his entourage. He would provide a credit card number under the conditions the hotel didn’t charge it, as he would pay with a certified check at the end of the stay. The hotel’s staffer called a legal rep at Roc Nation, who confirmed the agency had been contacted by multiple hotels about the scam.

You would like that, don't you?I wish I could downvote this post to upvote it again. Just upvoting it again is not the same. This, this is the lost virtue of bissonomy. Note how @Luhmann has, while appearing to merely not answer the question, also has not answered it on so many further levels. My only possible complaint is that this is not, in fact, actually nonsense and @Gaska's question is eventually seen to be answered.

@boomzilla This is a special family...
Riddle had just exited the school with her own daughter after a meeting with the vice principal on campus, according to the report. Rather than exiting the campus directly, the daughter walked out of her way through the cafeteria to engage the victim in a fight, the report says.
Riddle's daughter pushed the victim to the ground and threw some punches before the suspect also joined in punching the victim, who was lying on the ground, according to witnesses.
