Chrome is copying Firefox now?

@marczellm so?
-
Btw, there's already quite some shared code for these two browsers.
Say, both of them uses Project Necko to provide cross-platform networking capabilities.
(I found that a few days ago when trying to visit UAT web server binded to port 87, and then both Chrome and Firefox refused to connect, and I can only visit with IE)

I understand that this is in development/testing, but does the spacing around the right side of the bar, when combined with that border, look really weird?
I guess i'm just not a fan of google's new
* { border-radius: 50%; }

@gąska I just find it funny that with both the Australis and Photon redesigns, Firefox is slammed for copycatting Chrome, and now Chrome is making its tabs look like the ones that Firefox just ditched.
-
Well, I'm trying it, and I'm not sure I like it. They've moved the new tab button over here:

And my taskbar is on the left side of the screen, so it's hard to hit. Not that I click it when keyboard shortcuts exist, but still.
Edit: I apparently use it more than I thought I did. That design choice is starting to bother me.

That didn't take very long...

I think it was inevitable. When you've made a commitment that you are going to put out a new version of your browser every few weeks, it doesn't take long before you are making changes just for the sake of making changes.

Wait, what? So you gave "http://uat.example.com:87/some/page/or/other.html" and both Chrome and Firefox barfed, but IE worked? That's ... lame.
What did they do instead?

I'm assuming pop a dinosaur.

Do the logical thing... use port 88 instead.

Do new tabs push old tabs to the right? That does seem weird. It smells of, "It's easier to have this in a static position" laziness.
-
@boomzilla They don't. New tabs open in their normal farthest-right location. Which is twice as dumb as otherwise, because what the hell is the button doing all the way over there then?

Well, it was fun using this, but I must now make my exit. Chrome Canary is, well...

-
@tsaukpaetra The same people who sprinkled sand in my RAM, I'll bet.
-
@pie_flavor Are you using it over a non-ClearType supporting remote connection?
-
@hungrier I am using it over the same connection that I then launched non-Canary Chrome from, and it worked just fine.
