Strangely I couldn't find it in the archives of https://www.safelyendangered.com/ so I could link to the original.

Doesn't it, though? Doesn't it?

@Gąska Just... don't. Especially don't do it and keep your hand parallel to the ground.

The first funny xkcd comic about pandemic! The alt text at least.

Reminds me of this video for some reason (yes I know, wrong thread), which I'm sure was posted before:
-
@Vault_Dweller the really fun thing will be explaining pandemic to kids born in 2030s.
-
@Gąska We had pandemics before and will have them again.

We won't have to explain it to them. This one won't have ended by then.
Edit: Put in more appropriate scare quotes

The Annus Mirabilis was a plague year.

Yeah, it's just a cold with a chance of crippling or killing the weak. It's kinda like Social Darwinism as an ambient effect. Eugenics on the cheap. I am kinda coming around to liking this endemic disease idea.

This is the first pandemic in 100 years where lockdown was a serious proposal.

This is the first pandemic in 100 years where a global lockdown was a serious proposal.
Local / nation-wide ones we had plenty:
Ebola, 2014. SARS, 2003.
Other lockdowns: Czernobyl, 1986. USA, 9/11. Boston, 2013, Belgium, 2015.

Belgium, 2015
Sadly, somebody unlocked it, and look at all the bad things that have happened since.

That's not plenty, that's 2. Including COVID, that's one every 30 years. And COVID is the only lockdown that lasted more than a few months even in those locations that did experience lockdowns before.

While they did briefly ground all planes after 9/11, there wasn't anyone telling me I couldn't leave my house without (what they thought was) a good reason.

Guys, you can nitpick all you want, it doesn't change the fact that @Gąska 's argument was overly broad.
Now kindly fuck off and post some comic strips. They should even be funny.
-
>starts nitpicking
>demands everyone else to stop nitpickingClassic @Rhywden
Here's an unrelated funny comic.
