It's transient — it went away when I closed and reopened the notifications — but I've seen this excess of whitespace appear three times now.

Well, Second Life has a pretty strong focus on typing, either in chat or in scripts. But the rest of the games I play are focused more on gaming. Still, it is pretty annoying wherever you go when you try to type something and then suddenly your screen is filled with windows and you're autorunning into a world boss.
