I use this one at work.
Looks like the source I pulled from was: http://iris-hime.deviantart.com/art/Bug-or-feature-179764485

Pretty sure I posted this elsewhere, but CBA to find it. Anyway, this is intended to be used on a dual monitor setup:
-
-
Bing Desktop, usually animals or scenery.
-
I always liked spacey backgrounds, most of my personal PCs draw from the Hubblesite.org collection.

That's my lock screen. Shockingly not a built-in feature, but there's an app that does it for you.
-
all mine are from digital blasphemy.
awesome backgrounds, although the number of full HD triple wide monitor desktops are lacking.

Windows 8 has a way to do separate backgrounds on each screen, which I've combined with the ability to randomly select a background from a certain folder every 30 minutes.
-
yes, but when you use nvidia surround to span all three monitors so i can play GTA5 in surround sound and surround visuals windows stops seeing the individual monitors so i can't use at least part of that feature set. ;-)
-
DisplayFusion?
-
Ah. I can't do that unfortunately, my three screens are two different resolutions, and one of them is driven by integrated graphics and not my GTX 460.
-
DisplayFusion
if that's ATI speak for that feature.... yes.

ah. yeah. it's gorgeous when driven with my dual GTX970s..... worth the cash it was.
-
Nah, not sure if it will actually support the features you are using but it's probably worth a look. Was ~$7 on steam a couple of weeks ago https://www.displayfusion.com/

Also:
Shrunk in Paint. Woohoo! Best tool for the job!
One of my laptops has a better chalkboard in VS, and the other has the official Hero background from Microsoft, of course.
-
Windows built-in slide-show, updating every 30 minutes. Since I live where it's cool and dreary most of the year, the selection of pictures is (mostly) scenes of tropical beaches. Since I live alone and there is no one to complain, some of the pictures have people1 in them, but "tropical beach" is definitely more important than "people."
1 All of the people are clothed, at least enough not to get arrested on a typical US beach.
-
I just gimped this from an old photo I had lying around:
-
-
The position of the clouds kind of make that look like it's flying backwards
-
I switch weekly and mostly grab from the latest set of holiday pictures ... so I guess that makes me one of those people with children/wife as background ... currently my daughter, but you can have the one of last week. A view of the Pyrenees from this spring.
Edit: grabbed wrong picture from the series
Edit²: and the one I wanted is too big ...
Edit³:
-
Bing Desktop has had an odd history. I seem remember where you couldn't get it for Win8 or in certain territories or something.
The original version couldn't even minimize to the tray so I had a script set up to start it, give it a minute to update the desktop, then kill it again, otherwise its constant presence in the taskbar would drive me crazy.

Pretty sure I posted this elsewhere
You did. That's why this is now also my desktop background.
-
Makes me want to throw that terrain into X-Plane, stick an airport at the bottom of the valley, and shoot a few approaches to it a la Paro...
-
Would be a much better picture if it was taken from inside those fences.
-
We probably could've gotten closer, but this made the better picture. Maps reference:
Strange, satellite link one-boxes as map in preview.

Off to meta.d to file a bug report!

I let my fandom flag fly.

That would make a great canvas painting to hang on the wall.

Think I've been there as a kidd

My desktop is a frame from the new Star Wars trailer. Thanks to the magic of Windows 8, it follows me everywhere. Even where I don't want it, but never where I actually do want it. Like anywhere I could upload it to here from.
This one is the lock screen of my iThing:
And that goes well with a user icon from yet another device:
(Some day I should get around to cropping that properly. But it is not this day! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you procrastinate!)
-
It's too bad there's that white band in the second image.
It would look a lot better if the background would continue below, like this:
Oh well, what's one to do?
-
you know, that was the edit i was thinging of making myself.

Start minds thing alike.

Due to a deal I made some number of centuries ago, anyone who tries that with me is likely to get p9wahegfvhn98rewnyvr9wynd by Nyarlathotep.
