The Howler

  • This is the (Polish) webpage of one local public transport company. It looks dated, but rather okay... wait, what's that dancing envelope in the corner?

Well, try mousing over it with your speakers on. I dare you. I double-dare you motherfucker.

  • sockdevs

Their right-click hijack means I can't activate the Flash thing that does whatever it is you're talking about.

I get the feeling I'm not missing anything good.

why should i care about ninjas in this situation?

Flashblock, huh? I just disabled Flash, period. It was always failing...and something that fails a lot due to bad scripting is a potential security risk. So: Gone!

  • sockdevs

hmmm yes, i should do that too now that youtube has pretty much everyhting available in html5.

still going to keep flashblock installed though. it does html5 video too.

  • So do I, but not on tablet, which is why I completely forgot this shit is still a thing.

For those yelling at clouds - it plays an obnoxiously loud audio clip starting with traffic noises. On mouseover.

Well, unless I have totally misread the meaning and use of this meme, my intent was to convey that I had been "hanzo'd" in terms of somebody beating me to a comment I would want to make.

Obvious... ly (did you see what I done there), I failed. Miserablly.

  • I still like myself a flashgame once in a while. Also, AFAIK, those obnoxious full-page Flash ads then turn into full-page blank screens you can't dismiss.

Sorta: it's usually used when someone makes a post, then realises someone else already said it, so they edit :hanzo: into their own post ;)

  • I just cut out the middlemanedit

  • Winner of the 2016 Presidential Election

You can also go all Kirk and say "HANZOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
    Or "Dammit :hanzo:"
    Or something like that...

  • 'Cause this is what you get if you let someone design your site and pay them, like, 1750 PLN gross, or maybe after all bonuses added, 2500 gross.

  • @accalia said:

Because a ninja might sneak up behind you and turn your flashblock off without you noticing.

Looks more like a case of CEO-playing-designer to me...

  • area_deu

    Not the CEO's daughter's cousin?

  • It's a radio ad ?

  • Wow, it even avoided my flashblock! So evil!

  • In a state-owned Company? Impossibiru here, I think. I'm inclined to believe they got incompetent pricks fresh out of a zawodówka (for non-Poles: a trade school) who think they might run a "web agency". Also, one of those pricks might be a CEO's nephew which enabled them to bid at all.

Or it was a hire who happened to be the CEO's nephew. Minuscule money, true, but also a practical impossibility to get fired and tenure counter increases steadily.
