@Gribnit I agree.
Merges are bad enough as is. I'd sure love some specialized compare tools, not unlike beyond compare.

. I do not predict that resolving a merge conflict at the command line would be something I would want to do
That applies to me whether there are embedded images or not
-
@swayde There is in fact a plugin specifically for integrating this into version control systems.
-
@pie_flavor The more I learn about it the cooler it gets. Apparently you can make an entire IDE for your DSL, the way CLion and GoLand are just IJ with a domain-specific profile.
-
@pie_flavor Time to make a visual DSL for creating DSLs, yo.

https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/4875/mps-banned
More seriously, I did not expect this to be open-source: https://github.com/JetBrains/MPS (Apache 2)
-
@Zecc Why wouldn't it be? It's free.
-
( ) @pie_flavor So's Skype, Dropbox, ...
-
@Zecc Skype and Dropbox have paid plans. Every part of MPS is free.
-
@pie_flavor All right. I did not expect every part of MPS to be free. How's that?
-
-
@Zecc Cynical.
Also, we should unban MPS just for funsies.
-
@loopback0 there are even more impressive ones. It's an interesting scene.

It's clear that people want an Avi.
Not really. I prefer Mp4 or Webm.

@pie_flavor I was about to post that I'd done about 10 rolls and hadn't got a single 2016 trump win yet.
And then I got a 2016 perfect tie.
-
@PleegWat Interesting. I hadn't found a single 2016 Clinton win on my rolls.
-
This website is just pretty interesting in general.
-
What happens if we go for: jellyfish + otterhound + Appenzeller + sea cucumber + gorilla +soap dispenser + thimble + comic book?
Fantastic.

and this one just led me here:
Since the embed is retarded: The guy who made that website is also tweeting photos of literally every property in NYC, in numerical order by tax ID.
-
@pie_flavor I like that front door!
-
@dcon You'll have to be more specific. Every twenty minutes a new picture gets posted to the account and because the post above links to the account itself the embedded post changes with the same interval.

Didn't realize that... this one.

@dcon I'm feeling rather about that front door.

@JBert Goddamnit, I laughed.

@pie_flavor here is a good example of an IDE for your DSL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVIywLXDuRo
-
@Or88 Yes, that's sort of the first thing you see in the tutorial and gets peppered at random places in the wiki. But thanks I guess.
Also, welcome to the forum!

@boomzilla Well of course the USA would be on top, because it's measured in USD!
The real question is why that ends with "#blockchain #cryptocurrency". I'm instantly obliged not to believe it.

Cool desktop.

@Tsaukpaetra Thanks I just saw it on another board.

I designed a steganography system that encodes data as a chess game. A convenient way to communicate chess games is PGN, but any means of communicating the moves of the game would work, as the information is encoded conceptually in the moves themselves, rather than taking advantage of any redundancy in the PGN format.

@bb36e dammit; I was thinking he seemed like a pretty cool guy, but then this:
I enjoy playing with Bitcoin,
I'll let it slide. For now.
Hopefully he means more along the lines of trolling.

It's used in every post quote, no? How does it take more than one post to remember it?

The Embroidered Computer is an exploration into using historic gold embroidery materials and knowledge to craft a programmable 8 bit computer.
Solely built from a variety of metal threads, magnetic, glas and metal beads, and being inspired by traditional crafting routines and patterns, the piece questions the appearance of current digital and electronic technologies surrounding us, as well as our interaction with them.

Also, relays! Relays are neat (though nothing like as reliable as transistors).

Some people like to illustrate technical articles with screenshots. Raymond Chen prefers to generate the screenshots in HTML, including an auto updating date and time.

Also:
Screen shot with error dialog in the middle of the screen, some icons on the desktop, and a button in the taskbar corresponding to the dialog
Edit: Apparently that was an update:
