interesting. google translates that as "Prophet" and not the literal translation of "Peace Be Upon Him"
Another title that I need to figure out how to display ...
-
hmmm.... i too was once a title collector like you. and then.... well i stopped shifting personas and stuck with @accalia and so i stopped getting titles.
i also stopped doing Role Playing. that also cut down chaqnces to get titles.... need to fix that.

We're not doing that, @lolwhat. This ain't the 18th century.

No, Discourse inserted the image in the wrong spot. Fixed now. Here it is again, in case you don't want to scroll up ;)

Come on, people! Let's bring back the letter thorn!
That's the Þ, by the way ;)

Unicode has a private use area
Isn't that what Font Awesome use?

Well, that got þorny rather quickly.

What do you mean "bring it back"? It's still in use, just not in English.

-
I don't recall seeing it still in use in British English either.

FTFTFYFYAs I understand it, at least one Scandinavian language uses thorn.

I know of people who would literally translate that as “Prophet (PBUH)”. With those parentheses. It's nearly as odd the first time you see it as reading some classical latin texts in their original form.

Discoload
I get that more often than not. It's a bit frustrating; I have to remember how far I've read in each thread for things to make sense, and that starts to get taxing when there's a large number of threads about, each of which is discloaded. Because reasons…

The first letter of
Ye Olde Shoppe
is actually a corrupted Þ. As inÞe
.
-
Indeed, but that's hardly something that's still in use except for either old stuff or stuff trying to be old.

Not so much corrupted as substituted when the printing press came along; the thorn wasn't widely used enough for typesetters to make the thorn block required.

IME, refresh always loads the page to the correct spot. At least almost always; I can't remember a time it failed to do so.

So long as the DiscoURL hasn't changed

IME, when I've wanted to get the raw behind a post, and copy the link from the timestamp or the link or whatever, I somehow always get the previous post.

Quickly, quote that citation before it also gets deleted.
EDIT: Here it is:

A bit more tweaking
This should definitely be the new default design. The other one can be shipped as optional - code named "clown barf" or similar… ;)

It's already been flagged by the community.

Which is why I tried to save it. Or are we going to keep the link pointing to that flagged post for that real Discourse feeling?

Hmmm, it only got flagged over there after I quoted it here... Sorry, @discodevs, it was just to lulzy a term to pass up.

I did a flag / PM to moderators:
Oh, come on other flaggers. I disagree with this post, but it's funny!

also flagged to keep.

we didn't have this before?
-
I looked through the first post and didn't see it, nor did a discosearch for "prov" find anything similar. Maybe it was defined in another topic, but didn't make it here.
-
At some point, someone less lazy than I am should alphabetize the index.

Got a deferred message from Jeff: "Thanks, we're looking into this."
The post appears to be visible again.

Using my personal WABAC ...
I'll leave alphabetizing to some poor CDO afflicted soul.
I'l do alpha tonight i think, all except for one entry which will be in the wrong place, just one..
So, @accalia, how's the index alphabetizing coming?
-
huh? what?\
oh......
yeah nope not alphaing that.
i might write a bot for it though.

Just one request: Make sure that the hidden comments don't get sorted. They need to be properly positioned to help with the definition counting.

I was initially surprised by the hidden comments. Then I remembered where I was.

I suppose they could be made visible ...

Actually, scratch that. They'd need to be repositioned any time a new definition was inserted anyway. If you alpha., then strip out the hidden comments.
-
Do you know how much work I put in Discosearching for how to view raw, so that I could see what witty hidden comment you made about what to do after stripping out the hidden comments?!?!?
You have disappointed me for the last time!
