The active population here seems to be slightly biased towards Central Europe, amirite?

People got mad at the pope for saying the Armenian Genocide occurred. Apparently telling the truth about history causes riots in Euroland still.

Apparently, the Turkish defense is basically: "The idea of 'genocide' wasn't defined before 1945-1950. You can't judge us retroactively."
-
Right; its not an evil act if there's no one word for it. Obvs.
-
The idea of 'genocide'
I'm sorry, the idea of 'earthicide' wasn't defined until everyone was dead. - Aliens.

...or so it seems to me.
I look at that population map and it seems like it's pretty even. Well, that may have something to do with the fact that Americans don't realize that Europe exists in the same logical world, and vice versa.
It's like pluto, we know it exists, but we can't agree on what the fuck it is.

Wait, what's Europe?
Some one-hit wonder from the 1980's.

They're still going; they have a new album out this year

If you're using Chrome, it won't let you load the non-https pin and shadow images from the https map

Trying to figure out if some world traveler got the names backwards.
Unless he landed on the southeast side of Iceland and the west side of Greenland.
AIUI, the naming was a Viking marketing scheme.
Don't move to Iceland! It's all icy! You want to move to Greenland. Doesn't that just sound green?
suckers
Why is it all snow and ice here? I wanted Greenland, not Iceland!
This is Greenland.

I'm tired of this letters are words thing.
Does anyone have a dictionary?

Turkey isn't Europe, never has it been and never will be, specially now with all their religious fundamentalism arising.
-
I'm American, "Europe" is some vague entity (shooshes hand eastward) that direction. Who cares?
We deal with the people in the other direction. They're slightly more rational.
-
Turkey isn't Europe
Oh, so much room for pedantic dickweedism if only I didn't have this sinus headache reducing all motivation.
-
-
Israel and Russia do participate in Eurovision too... And in 20xx Karikistan or something was host.
-
Russia's in Europe.
I didn't know Israel was, but hey you learn something new every day.
-
i think they were represented by Stickly Man in 20X6.
Russia's in Europe.
Russia is all over the place.

I don't have a sinus headache.largely located in Western Asia with the portion of Eastern Thrace in Southeastern Europe.
Total land area is about 783,562 km2 (302,535 sq mi), of which 756,816 km2 (292,208 sq mi) are in Western Asia (Anatolia) and 23,764 km2 (9,175 sq mi) are in Southeastern Europe (Thrace).
The European portion of Turkey, known as Thrace (Turkish: Trakya), encompasses 3% of the total area but is home to more than 10% of the total population. Istanbul, the largest city of Thrace and Turkey, has a population of 11,372,613.
The European portion of Turkey consists mainly of rolling plateau country well suited to agriculture. It receives about 520 millimeters of rainfall annually. Densely populated, this area includes the cities of Istanbul and Edirne.

Except for @cartman82 (who you forgot / didn't know about), you all write in complete moon-language gibberish as far as I'm concerned.
A Nećeš da me priznaš, ah?
-
moon-language
Yes, we do all write English here.
Since as far as we know the only sentient creatures ever to inhabit the Moon, however briefly, were humans, and those humans were American, that would make the only language ever spoken on the Moon English. Or 'Murican, if you want to quibble.
You know, some people have reasons to be proud of where they live. Like food, culture, etc. But for some reason we're only known for one historical aspect of our culture that only 5% actively participated in.
You'd think we gassed thousands of innocent people and marched across Europe or something.
You're better known for your engineering skills. (Like BMW...)

Polynesians?
Exactly. Their relaxed, carefree attitude is way more rational than (shooshes hand eastward) that direction.

There's a conflation of 3 different things here re. Europe:
The European continent:
This includes Russia west of the Urals, and Turkey north of the Sea of Marmara.
The European Union:
And the Eurovision area:
The Eurovision Song Contest (French: Concours Eurovision de la chanson), often shortened to ESC, Eurovision, or EuroSong, is an annual song competition held, primarily, among the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 1956.

And Clangers.
I'm assuming that never made it over the pond though.

See? Stuff like this isn't helping, either
Since as far as we know the only sentient creatures ever to inhabit the Moon, however briefly, were humans, and those humans were American
Denied. I wrote "moon", not "Moon". This means it could be any moon in the Universe. It wasn't, in fact, targeted at any specific location, though. I used it as a generic term meaning "weird / otherwordly". If I used it wrong it's only due to ESL reasons.
Have a like for the joke, anyway.

Those maps are like random 100 users. Probably 90% are just random lurkers or one-offers.
Just to confirm:
The site link is every IP address that was in the database (last seen IP address, and for those not grandfathered in, the registration IP address) at the time I created the map.
The prior static images were a random set of 100 IP's from the set indicated above (due to a restriction of the site I used to generate them.)

Those aren't moon runes, これらは、月のルーンです!
이들은 달 룬 입니다 !

Huh, I missed those.
Seems like Belgium, Netherlands and Germany are in the lead as far as continental Europe is concerned.

Clangers
If we're going to consider fictional inhabitants, the list of "moon languages" probably includes most of the major human languages, and some number of non-human languages, but not Clanger.
a small moon-like planet.
Not the Moon.
I'm assuming that never made it over the pond though.
I'd be a bit surprised if it never made it here in some form or other, but it never achieved any significant popularity. I certainly was not aware of it.

Facts, barriers, jokes.

You used it correctly; I understood what you meant. However, I refused to allow that to be a barrier to humor (such as it was).

I believe I'm either being massively trolled by Google Translate lately, or someone made this back yard of mine an important place, somehow.
I am not sure how to cope. Please send help. Preferably in liquid form with high concentrations of alcohol.
