Cross-posting web comics authors are a barrier to my being a dick!
Oh wait you didn't cite the Facebook URL either, so I win.

I think they used to put something about Fakescience on their stuff. If they can't be bothered...meh.

Can you see an animal in this?
I'm told it's fairly easy on a phone or small screen. I have to get about 4ft away from my monitor before I start to see it. 6ft before I can really tell what it is.
-
@boomzilla If I tilt my laptop panel just right I can see it but only if I keep moving my eyes around.

Easier for me when scrolling.

Same here. Up close, I can't see it even knowing what I'm looking for. I'm guessing it's something to do with how the lines make for a much more compelling point of focus.
Interestingly, as I write this, I can just about make it out in the corner of my eye on the preview pane.
ETA: @dkf is right about the scrolling.

Looks like a zebra to me...
-
@hungrier Update: I can also see it consistently if I zoom out to 50%, and can easily see it on my phone while scrolling.

Yeah, this.
I could see what it was while scrolling too, although I suspect this being a fairly simple image helps.
-
@boomzilla Taking my glasses off helps a lot. The lines become blurry, so my brain stops making them the point of focus; that is to say, they become defocused.

Yup, at a distance, from the corner of my eye, or when scrolling.

Quite easy even from 1.3ft distance. I just need to put focus outside the monitor (closer to me).

I find it quite easy to see when zoomed out to 40%...
Or if I just tell my eyes to stop focusing .

I'll admit I spent over a minute trying to recalibrate Magic-Eye decoding to see it before moving on to the de-mosaic/blur transform and detecting it.

Maybe I've simply removed the knowledge from both hot and cold caches.

I'm wondering "is this a dress, or is Nastassja Bolivar just wearing it wrong?"
EDIT: INB4

Too long to be this short.

Looks pretty good to me.
