You and your fancy words. There's a perfectly good English word for this: schadenfreude.

.... that in addition to using CTRL+Del in standard text fields to delete word forwards, you can CTRL+Backspace to delete word backwards!
Stunning revelation for which I am sure to experience in the future at some point...
-
@Tsaukpaetra Ctrl basically means "word instead of single character" and Shift means "navigate but also select". See also: Ctrl(+Shift)+Arrows.
Yeah, okay. Ctrl(+Shift)+Home and Ctrl(+Shift)+End don't quite fit in that description, but you know what I mean.

@Zecc And now we learned how we can prevent the chicken from chickening out.

And that is why the chicken crossed the road, because the hypnotist made them do it to impress the audience.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Est!_Est!!_Est!!!_di_Montefiascone
Okay, NodeBB. Let's try again:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Est!_Est!!_Est!!!_di_Montefiascone
Est! Est!! Est!!! di Montefiascone (also known as just Est! Est!! Est!!!) is an Italian wine region centered on the commune of Montefiascone in the province of Viterbo in Lazio. [...]
The unusual name of the wine region dates back to a 12th-century tale of a German bishop traveling to the Vatican for a meeting with the pope. The bishop sent a prelate ahead of him to survey the villages along the route for the best wines. The 'wine scout' had instructions to write 'Est' (Latin for 'There is') on the door or on the wall of the inns he visited when he was particularly impressed with the quality of the wine they served so the bishop following on his trail would have known in advance where to make a stop. At a Montefiascone inn, the prelate was reportedly so overwhelmed with the local wine that he wrote Est! Est!! Est!!! on the door.
While this tale has been widely repeated, with some variations (such as the event taking place in the 10th century and/or involving a Flemish bishop, attending the coronation of Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor instead of meeting the Pope, etc.), the story is considered by many wine experts, such as Master of Wine Mary Ewing-Mulligan, to be apocryphal.

swabbing your ear canal
You are not supposed to swab your ear canal. It almost never helps anyway and you just risk packing the ear wax even more so it gets even harder to get rid of.

Me neither, and after my accident I was poked and prodded by all manner of doctors. The ear specialist said that I either don't swab at all, or do it correctly from what he could see.
I do swab, because I'm the itching that ear wax cause drives me crazy.

"She actually went to her office on the day that Jack was born," Siegel [: Black's half-brother] wrote. "When it was time to go to the hospital, she took with her a computer printout of the problem she was working on. Later that day, she called her boss and told him that she had solved the problem. And . . . oh, yes, the baby was born, too."

@sockpuppet7 I got an answer wrong in a biology test in high school by answering "fallopian tube" instead of "Eustachian tube".
I've never confused the two anywhere else though.

I have been involved in a high school academic quiz match where one of my teammates got the answer wrong with the same confusion, but in reverse.
And then the coach immediately called timeout to bench all of us starters because he thought the wrong answer was from horsing around and we all found it too funny and weren't adequately focused on winning.

@Applied-Mediocrity otherwise it sends off a request to google, so why not do it locally.
Spotlight on Mac or KDE’s launcher can do it too. I’d almost want assume it works on windows, but the start menu is so broken it can’t even show programs, so calculating would be too much to ask.

And pray tell what else do they have in common with Firefox?

@Applied-Mediocrity they’re a long text entry field you type in what you want to do.
Personally, I still have a separate URL bar and search bar in my Firefox. But the “awesome bar” has been a “do what I mean” concept that’s been adopted pretty much everywhere for a long time. Users use it to search for google on google.

In my work computer I have them separate. In my gaming computer I have them as one. I find it doesn't make much of a difference.
In retrospect it's kind of stupid that I have less space to display the URL parameters where it matters more. :shrugging_warthog:
-
Anyway... the calculations you can do in the URL bar seem to be limited to just the main four arithmetic operations? Not that I tried a lot, but I couldn't find how to do trigonometry or even powers.
I think I'll stick to using the dev tools console or *gasp* the OS Calculator app.

And the answer is always "all of them".
