@Polygeekery seems to have escaped the hattening?
-
I just assumed he did not like me. Also, I personally would not blame him.
-
I bet Microsoft Tags don't lend themselves to such abuse.
I have actually seen a couple of those in the wild.

TIL.
You and everyone else who reads this thread, probably. They went about as well as Sony propietary storage formats. Which was kind of a bummer as they were multicolored and you could exploit that.
-
Seems they're ending it later this year. The same website seems to still be trying to convince people to sign up though so.... *shrug*
-
they were multicolored and you could exploit that.
By this I mean the shape wasn't relevant, just the relevant positions of the colors, so you could work a tag into a picture and if you did it right it was still a valid tag. It's like Ben's QR abuse but different. The thing on the right is a valid tag.
ETA: Oh, look, we've already been here. Link below provides an even better example.
-
Hah. That thread features the lamest blakeyrant ever, too. It must've been before he had his stroke.
-
I just assumed he did not like me.
I was trying to come up with something creative enough for the tesseract. And then I forgot.
How's this?
-
Hmmm... if we could cram more faces in I'd suggest each one presenting a different point in time (mustache size, lack of glasses...) but there's only so much you can do with a non-animated 2D image...

Someone needs to hat @translator

After 10 translations Bing says: Error 119: 2.88MB floppy installed but not supported by the floppy controller.

I think @translator is broken.
edit: Oh bugger, thought this was the translator thread.

Oh man, that caught me completely by surprise, now my diaphragm is aching from the laughs.Filed under: English -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error -> Error
Hey, I managed to hit the right spelling of "diaphragm" on my first attempt.

A panama hat would look better; it's a bit hard to see the dark fedora.

Paging @abarker…
I followed up with a search for 'female C3PO', and found a picture of a very pretty lady in a steampunk threepio outfit. It was more tasteful than it sounds ;)

Why not use an actual bad translation?

Discourse! Why you make image darker‽‽‽
That's the reason I still haven't changed my avatar, it's too dark. Apparently it happens to greyscale images.
Hmmm... maybe I should try adding a single red pixel somewhere?
-
I think someone said that it only does it if you drag an image into the post window or copy/paste it. Using the upload button is fine apparently

And hatted:

I am disturbed by your lack of faith in the Mad Hatter's abilities.

You mean the shades? Or the porn 'stache?

It didn't used to do that to uploaded images, only to copy-pasted ones. The discodevs belgium-ed something new.

That was me, which is why I made sure to upload this one. The behavior has apparently changed.

There is no other way to upload the avatar anyway. Here, proof.
Drag&drop:
Upload button:
Let's try screenshoting it with some colour on the image:
OH WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT!
Ok, let's try a SINGLE coloured pixel:
I don't know whether to laugh or cry...
-
Followup: SPOT THE DISCOURSISTENCY!
Let me guess... it got scaled, one red pixel got lost in the process and it got darkened, AGAIN!

I fixed the pic for @signature guy above by changing one pixel from (171,171,171) to (172,171,171):
Try just shifting a single RGB value for, say, the hat. That should provide a large enough area to prevent the issue you are seeing.
