Is balsamic vinegar an essential item to you?
Never mind that. What about the Camomile-scented Ironing Water? :D

Not essential in camomile.Other flavours would totally be essential if I ironed more than like 3 times a year. And didn't have at least one tap.

No, I mangled a meme. Dost thou not recognize the "How is Babby formed" meme?
Are you sure that's one of ours?

Follow-up: We make a lot of salads to accompany dinner, and Balsamic dressing is one of my favorites. So, we always have balsamic vinegar around here.
We cook a lot, so many of the things we consider essential would not be anywhere near essential to most other people who do not cook extensively.

Yet another FWP: Launchpad.net has decided to reimport a repository I'm responsible for from github (for unknown raisins). This repository is of some reasonable age, with over 10k commits on its trunk. So guess what? Yes, I'm getting emailed a separate message about each commit.
I'm glad I've got lots of space on our Exchange server.

The problem is I come from Seattle area where we have great restaurants of EVERY nationality.
I live in a small town, population 8000, and we have three Teriyaki places, one sushi place, a Pho place, several Mexican restaurants, a Chinese restaurant, two QUALITY pizza parlors (and a Little Caesar's so), a Greek place etc. In a SMALL TOWN. AND THEY'RE ALL GOOD.
We even have a British pub if you want fish and chips.
You can't find that anywhere else in the world. As I soon learned as I started traveling the world.
The DC area comes close.

The cleaner didn't vacuum in the lounge because I was having a nap on the couch so I had to do it myself after she left
At first I was thinking this was an upper class problem rather than a first-world problem, but I suppose if the cleaner is from a poorer country, it could be a FWP.
-
You can have a cleaner work in your house once a week, or twice a month. It isnt so upper class exclusive.

"There is no Windows version of xscreensaver, and there never will be. Please stop asking. Microsoft killed my company, and I hold a personal grudge. I don't use any Microsoft products and neither should you."
If I weren't too lazy I'd be tempted to try to port it.
-
If I ever write some useful opensource sw I will remember to create a license that forbids to port it to MS platforms.

You can comfortably fit two A4 pages and have one more program running next to them, so for my work the ultra-wide format is actually quite ok.
However:

I sometimes have that problem (even without the 13000 pixels — do want). There's an option somewhere that draws concentric circles around the pointer when you press and release Ctrl.
-
My cow-orker can't find his mouse pointer.
HAHAHAHAH!
You can go into the mouse control panel and turn on pointer trails or the "ctrl-key sonar" option to find it.

Why would I want to do that?
I haven't had this much fun since I got him to send out an email about a meeting in a conference room named Alfred E. Neuman instead of John von Neuman.
-
Why would I want to do that?
Well, he might want to. You might be the kind of jerk who finds his difficulties amusing, not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that.

That's funny but only if one of the recipients called him out on it.

can't find his mouse pointer
This becomes more difficult when your cursor is turned into a dot.
My personal remedy: Starcraft-themed animated cursor! It never looks like anything else on the screen, moves (so I can see it), and is bigger (INB4 ) than the standard cursor!
-
I used to use those! I liked it better than the sc2 one, which I should see if exists anywhere.

I use this, and also Mouse Trails. Also, Mouse Trails freaks out anyone who tries to use my PC. Mouse Trails is fun.

What's amusing to me is that something that worked in Windows 95 still works in Windows 10. It's too bad though, I can't get it packed into an .mstheme zip file properly for distribution, and every time the Themes Engine breaks I have to re-select it...
-
It doesn't surprise me that games like Starcraft itself worked on 95 and work on 10. Lots of software is badly written, but it isn't like none was written well.
-
games
Oh. I have no idea if the GAME works, the icon pack with .reg file is what I was referencing.

Oh, they were laughing all right. Not my co-worker, though, who obviously does not know his CS history.

FWP: The seat heaters in my vehicle are tied in to the sensors for the seat belt indicators, so they will only run if someone is in the seat. Consequently, even if I warm up my vehicle on cold mornings like this, the leather remains icy cold until I get in the car.
Goddamn engineers.
-
You put it into a
.cur
, no?
-
Consequently, even if I warm up my vehicle on cold mornings like this, the leather remains icy cold until I get in the car.
- how long does it take to warm up your car?
- why haven't you defeated the sensor with an anvil on a towel or something?
-
Wow are you a woman? Because no man would use seat heaters, or whine about a little bit of cold, like you are.
-
Yep. The seat heaters help with menstrual cramps.
-
Seriously. Even in the first world problems thread, how do you type that first post and not feel fatal levels of shame.
-

I console myself by realizing that I am not you.
-
You put it into a .cur, no?
It's a set of .cur and .ani files and a .reg file.
The issue is that the theme engine sometimes breaks and resets everything to default, which means a round trip to the .reg file and the mouse control panel (main.cpl).
I could fix it if I could put it in a .mstheme file, but it needs to be signed.

Do your seat heaters only have one power level?
-
Two. Neither work without weight in the seat.
-
Three power level master race checking in.
-
Three power level master race checking in.
Pfft.
Zero power levels here. Alcantara seats don't need heaters.
-
Two. Neither work without weight in the seat.
Have you tried just doing up the seatbelt in case it's happy enough with that?
-
Zero power levels here. Alcantara seats don't need heaters.
The only possible advantage to that is that your car seats never need to be rebooted to install an update.
WHAT THE FUCK AM I SAYING?! THIS MAKES NO SENSE!
I doubt that would do it.
