I thought the only mixers required for tequila were salt and lemons?
Yeah....no. I prefer something closer to a margarita. At home, that is diet sprite and lime juice.

You don't need mixer for tequila.
-
@blakeyrat you don't need mixer for any good quality spirit

...and the best way to do that is to mask the taste with a mixer? ;-)

But we're talking about tequila…

How does adding a mixer contribute to that goal?

I like my margaritas. Stop shaming me for my picky tastes. Check your taste bud privilege.
While I can do shots of tequila, I don't want to.
While I can eat cilantro, I don't want to.
-
@Karla I guess we disagree on the definition of the word "need".
-
@Karla Trigger and privilege jokes are SO FUNNY LOL ROFL LMAO.
They never ever could possibly get old and annoying!

You appear to be missing the pendantry going on here.
Once more with feeling....

@EveryoneElse:
But if you put in mixers, you won't be able to taste the ethanol.

I used need in the same way, I'd say I need a drink. Of course, I don't really need it.

While far from a connoisseur, I still prefer Patron as a margarita than a shot.
Plus...I prefer to drink for $X rather than $X * however much more.
I did once try this almond flavored tequila but I still
neededprefered it watered down a bit. @blakeyrat

Well, again, I didn't know everyone else had already piled on.

@FrostCat I know...now.
-
@Karla said in The Official First World Problems Thread™:
I give up.
Why?
The stuff in mixers tend to be non-alcoholic, and that's what you want more of in your drinks.
The ethanol/alcohol by that point becomes a bit of a minority player, since it reduces a 76-proof drink (according the the bottle of tequila I just asked the barman here to show me) down to roughly 4% (or less) ABV.
Basically the level of a low/average ABV UK lager.
Or a very strong US one

Not that bad but I just did the math.
15 oz glass
2.5 oz of tequila
80 proof6.7 %
Though I use diet sprite...so I don't add extra sugar. There's that.
-
@Karla said in The Official First World Problems Thread™:

Hmm. That's the (internal) argument I use for having diet coke/cola/pepsi (depending on bar and temperament of the barstaff) in my vodka, rather than full-fat.
The other internal reason I use is I prefer the taste of the diet product more than the full-fat version. In all but one of the bars anyway. I can't stand any of the cola's so I end up with full-fat lemonade.
-

Patron is perfectly drinkable without mixers. I had Jose Cuervo and Sauza in mind when I posted that.

Yeah, I prefer diet at this point too.
Though I cannot have any kind of coke with a drink...I'd never go to sleep when I get home.
When I go out I ask for 2x the alcohol to minimize the sugar.
A wedding I went to had a tequila/lemonade drink (I forgot what it was called). That was yummy.
-
@bb36e Don't think I've ever had it or it ever appealed to me.
I don't like beer at all. I have picky tastebuds. I don't like dry wine.
Jeez, I thought the tequila was an improvement over the amaretto sours I drank when I was young.
20 years or so during a I was introduced to flaming sambuca shots.
-
@Karla what about cider? it's pretty inoffensive.

I would like that. But probably still has a lot of sugar.

The rental had the filler door on the driver's side as god and Henry Ford intended, but the slightly older boughten vehicle has it on the passenger's side.
This just proves that Nissan can't design shit and should be put out to pasture with prejudice.
No. Cars should have them assigned randomly. Often there is a preferred entrance to a gas station. Navigation is easier if half of the cars have the filler door on one side, half on the other.

And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.

@boomzilla If it's breakfast it should be a mimosa.
-
@Karla Not if you're The Man In Black.

@boomzilla And I am not.

My daughter made cookies and used half the chocolate chips and none of the butter that the recipe called for. They're edible but not what one would consider cookies, exactly.

@Tsaukpaetra not that bad. Not that good either.

FWP: My daughter left a crayon mark on my monitor. I am not sure how to clean it up.

@Karla Happens around the 5th beer of the day.
